The United Nations - the world's keeper of peace disbands. Their previous failures cause countries to lose faith in the UN, and as the US, China, and Russia withdraw, it topples over on itself, causing countries around the world to run rampant and conflicts arise.

 

In the East, the Internet is China's undoing as millions march onto Beijing to have democracy. Rebellious groups arise and topple the Chinese government - however, they cannot agree on anything, so China is divided into East and West and Manchurian. All provinces are unstable and neither have an official government.

 

In Europe, the Euro collapses. Germany is the hardest hit European country and undergoes a deep depression, whilst other European countries follow closely behind. the UK and Switzerland seem to be less effected - however, they do undergo a recession.

 

Russia sees the fall of the Euro as a golden opportunity. It mobilizes troops into the rest of Ukraine, conquering it easily. Putin has stepped down, and new leaders emerge, idolizing Putin's policies, and the Russian people have a strong sense of nationalism. Surrounding Slavic countries fear Russian invasion.

 

India seems to be the world's most efficient economic powerhouse, and teams up with it's closest ally, Israel, to subdue Islamic extremist in the Middle East and build themselves up. The Arab nations view them as a enemies and religious tensions flare in the region - Extremists view the Hindus and Jews as Islam's biggest threat. Iran assumes responsibility for their destruction.

 

In the far east - Japan starts building up its military once again. The people are conflicted about actions at this time, and leaders rise up. Cut off from the U.S, Japan seems to set its sights on Manchuria.

 

In North America, the United States has lost severe influence. With no more bases in any other countries, soldiers and politicians return home. Because of their lack of foreign investments and lost influence, America is hit by a depression of a size, not seen since the Great Depression. The unemployment is at 22% and plummeting, and the stock-market has crashed, affecting the economies of countries all around. Even though the U.S has larger Oil Reserves than the Middle East, it can only last them so long.

 

South America, Southeast Asia, Australia, and Africa seem to be relatively unaffected by the worldly changes. Their current situations remain.

Alliances have been forged in the backstory as a recommendation - not canon. India and Israel are allies, and Russia looks to invade other countries, to help create RP. They do not have to be followed and the leaders of these countries can easily sway their countries in a different way.

I'll give you a little back story.

After the 2008 crisis Portugal was weak, the populous saw the failure of the republic and riots started to happen.Many of those riots were pro-monarchists movements.In 2016 the state issued a referendum to see the precentage of the populous wanted a monarchy.The majoraty voted yes, although most of the people wanted a king the republic denied them.In 2018 a group of generals and lieutenants marched their troops to the capital with the goal of restoring the monarchy.When they got there was little opposition, the prime minister and the president resigned and a monarch was placed on the throne of Portugal.The old house of Bragança ruled again, now with a unfied government the country finnaly is in better shape after the 2008 crisis.In 2020 talks bettween Brazil and Portugal started happening.They came to a conclusion that to undure in this fractured world they must unfied.So a treaty bettween Portugal and Brazil was signed, the treaty stated that, Brazil would recognize the Portuguese monarchy as it's rulling body but Brazil will keep it's Prime Minister that was elected democraticly, and that those countries would have oppen borders and free trade (much like the EU).In 2026 both Angola and Mozambique joined the coaltion.Will this Alliance endure?

Backstory: In 2014 Hong Kong's entirely Cantonese population was oppressed by the Mandarins in Beijing. The economy fell by 12.5% in a single year and the shining capitalist city-state was left no more than another of China's cities. And so the people of the South waited for the chance to strike and reclaim their old way. When the North fell in on itself seeking the democracy that it had once thrown away  in the 2026 protests, the leaders of Hong Kong and Taiwan made their move, grabbing at the entire Cantonese area of China and the coastline off of Taiwan, raising its flag of rebellion. "The Western Chinese Republic" it would be called, led by its Great Protector Ng Ying-Hei, a Cantonese from the US of A, as it adopted Western ideals. Main Languages: Cantonese, Taiwanese, and English.
