Xerxes orders the Parthian military to be expanded once again, with three units of Dahae cav archers, two Cataphracts, two ax men, and four Immortals. The total expenditure on the army amounted to costing eighty golden chest, leaving Parthia with ninety three gold chest. The raised army joins the contingents in the east, and a military offensive is planned.

Cavalry and light troops would spearhead, as the Immortals consolidated the land swept up in the advance. Focusing on smashing ahead and defeating any opposition and consolidating later, the Parthians hoped to rip across four provinces. With the land being explored no major threat was seen, and a plan was formed around with the available maps. -Mod

The Bactrian military alliance and trade agreement is met with much celebration, and a joint eternal friendship is declared. The Parthian retinue joyfully accompanies the Parthians to the Mauryans, and proposes a triangle alliance between them, the Bactrians, and Parthia. A separate Parthian trade pact is also offered. -Mod

The Year 137 BC

A throng of Germanic cavalry broke through the woodlands throughout Walholant, the land of Gaul. The Leuke Epos each rode with a message as the land of the Boii stirred. The Saxons, the Rhaetii, the Arverni, and the Aedui are invited to a grand Thing or assembly of freedman and warriors from an obscure chieftain named Theutobod. The guests are informed to send a representative of their individual rix or king to the Amber Route and they'll be led to the assembly. To accept or deny it is up to each leader of the four invited parties.

"Their possessions consisted of cattle and gold, because these were the only things they could carry about with them everywhere according to circumstances and shift where they chose. They treated comradeship as of the greatest importance, those among them being the most feared and most powerful who were thought to have the largest number of attendants and associates."

- Polybius in The Histories

Meanwhile, a story spread curiously throughout the Roman Republic:

"When, that is, he was quite young and living in the country, he had caught in his cloak a falling eagle's nest, which had seven young ones in it; at sight of this, his parents were amazed, and made enquiries of the seers, who told them that their son would be most illustrious of men, and was destined to receive the highest command and power seven times."

- Plutarch in Life of M.

The Silk Road and her traders grew nervous, talking in hushed tones about a great event between Parthia and China. Merchants who entered Parthia warned of a horde known as the Sakae being ousted out of their former lands in the east by other steppe nomads and the Sakae's coming.

Moderator Actions

  • Rome: Corsica settled by Rome, Syracuse is discovered and is prepared to defend from either Roman or Carthaginian excursion.
  • China: Settling and scouting completed without disturbance.

  • Egypt: Scouting and settling completed without disturbance, the small township of Side joined the Ptolemaic Dynasty in hopes to suffer no excursions from the Seleukids.

  • Saxony: Settling eastward is ultimately halted by an Androphagi-Venedae warband camping along the Suevus [Oder] River, but some parts are encamped by the Saxon colonists. Scouting to the west is completed w/o disturbance.

  • Himyar: Federator Karib Watar has mobilized his urban militias and some Bedouin and is last seen camping at the town of Shabwa. Scouts believed he is in fact looking to engage in battle, his numbers ranging within fifteen units in total.

  • Lusotani Spain: The settling goes as plan although Gadiz is now forewarned of Lusotani excursion and readies for a possible siege. The scouting goes as plan until scouts encounter a Greek colony named Emporiun.

  • Carthage: Scouting goes accordingly, the Garamantes are found west of Carthage and the Massilyi Numidians to their southeast.

  • Macedon: Byzantium is found lightly defended and the talk of the town is terror as word of Thraikans from the north worry the town's populace. Three units of Cretan archers are sent from Krete.

  • Rhaetii: The Arverni grimaced at the Rhaetii envoy, perhaps a cultural rift may be causing this initial disgruntlement between the Arverni and the Rhaetii.

  • Parthia: The settlement goes as planned, but the North is brimming with worried Skythians who begin to mobilize as a precaution. Due east, the northernmost extent of the Mauryan Empire is found, thus settlement is halted to an extent.

The government's centralizing of the 18 Princes had been going well, and the army was sitting unused, but he knew there must be other people beyond the Yellow River Valley. The Great Wall itself was still not under the control of the Han Empire; that important point was what he was expanding towards.

Planned actions

"Strange are the reports, threating almost, talks about the men clad in bands of bronze marching up from the warm and hilly lands further South. Their tongue odd, their beards shaved, row after row, like a palisade with feet they march down roads and paths. Their colorful dresses of red, orange, yellow and other bright colors suit their lands, but then again they do not seem harmless. They must be the men in linen clothes, believing in different gods, dreaming different dreams. Let us take care for the approach, let us send a small envoy to meet, greet and learn from them as their ways, though odd, seem to give them strength."

"The Avernii have a disdain for us I can not grasp, and ignored my father's offers and requests. Then again, if they disdain us, we shall prove them that we are not worthy of such and that we mean it well. Leave them in peace. Remain open for their people and their trade and let them approach us if they wish for trade."

"The request for the Thing shall be followed and I will be on my way."

"Send people who dare to approach the great lake to settle at the coast of it, for fish, wide meadows and this odd black pearl with a bitter taste I came to enjoy. Perhaps bees will thrive there and we may think about getting to produce honey, wild and sweet."

"Send scouts around all our lands and a bit beyond there, wherever we lack knowledge of the surroundings thus far."

(Tl;dr:

- Envoy to Rome, peaceful intentions, a chest of gold (1)

- The Avernii are left alone in peace, nontheless a careful watch is being placed in the Western regions. But again, the "borders" are open for them to come and trade. (If Avernii inquire for a trade agreement it gets accepted automatically)

- Settlers towards the South, Istria and neighbouring. 7cyBjVP.png

- Handir heads for the called meeting with a retinue of men.

- Scouting in ALL directions which are unknown (all bordering black regions)

total_war__rome_2___rome_faction_symbol_

The Consuls look over the sprawling hills outside the city, as regiments dispersed down the fresh road
moving to garrison and secure the new frontier as well as ensure the protection of all provinces. Basically armed scouts move around the slow marching Principes, Triarii, and Hastati, towards the North and to the Ports. In the ports the scouts would board quick moving ships and guide them along the unknown coasts, to increase Rome's sphere of knowledge. A deal had been worked out with the mountain men of the Raetii, the discovered coastal and trading provinces being divided up between the two nations. A new general had been gifted a boar standard, levying a new more diverse army of troops from the various patrician families throughout the hills.
