Antigonos grunted when he heard Crete would not so easily fall to Macedon. A return letter to the diplomats was sent back to the diplomats instructing them of what to say.

"What could the best archers in the known world do when their bows are strung with weak rope? What could they do when their quivers are empty? What could trained soldiers do when the enemy they face is starvation. When beloved Crete is blockaded and sieged and your villagers are slaughtered when they try to harvest the last grain, what will YOU do? Cede Crete to the throne and this is avoided. You will be given control of your lands and the protection of Macedon if you simply enforce our taxes and supply our armies with some of your famed Creten archers.

The Roman Senate of the Republic

Starting Gold: 50 + 120 (20 provinces *2 gold *3 for third page) From Provinces + Iron (8 Gold) + Wine (12 Gold) =  190 Gold

total_war__rome_2___rome_faction_symbol_

The senate was filled with patricians, all bickering amongst themselves in a constant roar albeit the room housing a multitude of conversations. As more senators filed into the large building, large purple stripes flickering on the massive wave of blank white togas, the consul Flavius Brutus silenced the group of men with the voice of a general.

"The Peninsula is united, but barely. Silence your petty disputes so that we may advance

further in this growing world. We have much to discuss. For we have heard of barbaric men in north who wear hair like armor and wield rocks like blades. Will we move through the mountains to bring civilization to these uncivilized monsters? Or perhaps we will seize a new province close to the northern trade route which brings those who have control of it goods from the far northeast? Or, the more immediate threat, will we open relations with the Empire of Carthage to the south across the mare nostrum?"

Immediately the senators erupt once more in their hushed squabbles over the action of the Republic, but are quickly silenced by the hand of the second consul, Quintus Julius.

"We will vote, not bicker while barbarians form a massive war-band or the Carthaginians cross elephants over the ocean!"

Actions of the Consuls

-4 Regiments of Hastati Trained (-8 Gold)

-2 Regiments of Principes (-8 Gold)

-1 Triarii (-7 Gold)

Total Military Expenses = -23 Gold

End Turn Left in Treasury: 167 Gold

Actions of the Senate (Gaius will say what exploration/settler units find)

-To the northeast settlers and two regiments of Hastati are sent to seek the fabled trade routes and settle the three provinces to the direct South of the trade route

-A regiment of Principes and a group of settlers are sent into Southern Sicily to settle the unclaimed province

-Scouts and Settlers are sent to Sardinia to explore and settle it, along with a regiment of Principes

-A new road system is being built throughout the Republic, from the northernmost province to the southernmost port

-A diplomat and merchant ship is sent to Carthage for further discussion (messaged him on Skype)

Mamlak Himyar wa Misr wa Nuba - Yemen, Egypt, & Nubia

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFITqfyQVPk

Year 190 BC

The lands south and west of Nubia are rather uninhabited and the Camelry have no trouble founding camps that expand the sphere of influence of the Kingdom of Kush southwest.

The scouts from Himyar find ancient ruins of an old kingdom named Ma'in1 but the land is relatively empty save for oasis town such as Macoraba which had a pagan shrine of black stone. Due east, the scouts ran roughshod with Bedouins under contract of the Sabaean Kingdom. The scouts return relatively roughened, but none dead.

Prydain - Britain

The Caledonians looked suspiciously at the grain merchant, they noted 'We have our livestock, perhaps we shall feed them on these grain'. The Caledonians looked like they would rather put up a guerrilla fight rather than a line battle, with archers, slingers, and spearmen plenty and chariots to aid. The grain merchant could not count their numbers however. The port is constructed, a rowing galley could be constructed per year [per page].

Zhōngguó - The Land of China

The lands of Outer China opened up, undisturbed to the Emperor. However, those along the Silk Roads informed the scouts that they would inform China of any steppe raiders congregating. Interestingly, sailors exclaimed superstitiously of giant turtles seen to the north along out at sea. What this may mean could be anything until further investigation is done.

Walholant - The Land of the Gallic and Germanic Celts

The small tribes of Langobardi bend the knee and warn the Saxons against advancing east unless they intend to truly challenge the strong Androphagi and Venedae and the scouts enter west unharmed and find nothing but forests and rivulets.

The Lusotani scouts find nothing but rolling hills and stretching valleys. However, some shepherds found southwest speak of a well-fortified town named Gadiz along the coast and advises careful maneuvering unless the Lusotani intended to siege the town.

The Aedui would find fertile and wooded lands both west and north-east, however the Belgae stand in their presence in the North.

The Land of Megas Alexandros

The Cretan Tyrant frowned and nestled his head in his hands, noting "By the Gods, he is right. Send him a diplomat and tell him we will join him, send our friends to the Eastern shores a letter and invite them to parlay with our new King!". The Peloponessus is irrelevant save for the islands of Lesbos and Rhodos, both joining Macedon in the spirit of anti-Seleukid fervor.

The toll roads are a boon to the Parthians, allowing them to choke off trade on either side with an obvious diplomatic impasse. The Parthians can gather +4 gold from the Silk Road. The Parthians find the lands they scout uninhabited. Their Bactrian envoy is addressed with high esteem and a trade agreement is agreed upon and a military alliance signed. They offer to bring the envoy through Bactrian territory and to meet the Mauryans to their southeast.

The Han Empire of China

Gold: 3 (Previous) + 64 (Provinces) + 13 (Resources) + 12 (Silk Road) = 92 Gold Before Expenses

With what appeared to be an empty expanse around the nation, the Emperor Jiu made a decisive move.

"Wǒmen de zhímín zhě huì qù wài guó!"

(Our colonists will go to the foreign lands!)

With the decision made, colonists begin to travel from Central China to all reaches explored by the Scouts (So all of the bordering white provinces) and take up unoccupied land, and scouts are sent North and West.

(Red is approximate Scout movement, Blue is approximate Colonist movement)

A port and shipyard are built near Nanking for a total of 65 gold and a toll road is built at the beginning of the Silk Road for 15 gold.

I've decided that we should try to set up a large scale trade route within the red sea, to help all of our good countries. The Republic of Carthage:

Gold: (Gonna carry it on from the 2 pages, and assume I have 7 provinces if I include the islands I have colonies on, like sicily)

50 + 35 (from provinces, Apparently carthages bonus is more gold from provinces) + 9 (from resources), also plus the 2 pages makes for 2 more lots of 44, which is 173 Gold overall. (Hope I got this right, not good at maths :C)

Hamilcar, recently elected into the head of the Carthaginian Republic, immediately got to business. The first matter was to expand Carthages borders. They were mostly small, and her colonies were mostly only trade focused.

A new port is to be built in Carthage, Along with a shipyard to extend its naval power. (-65 Gold), and A band of war elephants is taken into the army (-16 gold).

10 units of Poeni Infantry and Baelaric Slingers are recruited into the army, costing 50 bags of gold. 2 units of Heavy cavalry are recruited also. (-24 gold)

Scouts are sent out into North africa, out of Carthages lands, and settlers are sent into the Coast of Spain and Corsica, And also east of their lands in Sicily to extend their domain further.

The carthaginians are left with 18 bags of gold, to be saved for future use.

The Carthaginians agree to trade with rome, as it would help bolster both countries economies, and perhaps a military alliance would be good for later.

(Sorry, had to write this up quickly on my phone, expect better posts this weekend, hopefully :P)

under the rule of

Brundir Rix, third King of the Celtic Raetii

"Great is the day, blessed are we, as our brothers and sisters have returned to us, the gods showed them their will and promised them safety amongst us. Let there be feasts with mead and meat, let us be happy how we can now thrive towards a better future together!" The people are cheerful, the Norii relieved, under the new lead of the promising young Raetii king, whose wish is to unite their kin, bring them together to live in peace and safety from threats of false gods and people.

Settlement plans towards the region next to the Lake of Konstanz (Vorarlberg, I live there.)

The Norii are greeted as kin, the Raetii swearing to protect them, their families and their lands, seeing them as brothers and sisters.

Norii scout reports of a great endless lake further south with warm meadows and lands a fresh breeze of salt cause the Raetii to consider settlements there.

Guards are being positioned towards the northern regions in order to stay alert of the so-feared Boii and other supposedly hostile clans.

Careful scouting towards the North and to some extend further South to find out more about the rumored men in linen clothes.
