History

Fumble was the adopted son of the Elder Bolo Willowbottom in Lenfarthing. He spent most of his life isolated  from other children, with his brother off playing with the older Lenfarthing kids and his sister off studying baking at the Halfling Food College for Lady Hobbits. Due to most of his company being adult male halflings Fumble soon became accustomed to speaking loudly, relaxing with a pipe, drinking in excess, and most of all having a fear of the outside world. On a summer evening Bolo decided that it was time his children learn what it was like in the outside world. Packing second breakfast, lunch, second and third lunch, as well as dinner the father and two sons set off to the outside world, passing under the great mountains that surrounded the secluded farthing. After passing through a strange crevice in the mountains, the halfling family found themselves surrounded by massive buildings and large men whacking at the ground with stone farming tools. "They are doing it all wrong lads, take no'e tha' t' bigg'uns never learned how to till properly," their father noted. The halfling children had never felt paved stone on their feet before, inspecting the odd roads with a childish curiosity. The Halfling Children were introduced to the Orenian Queen, a friend of Bolo's. After a fight broke out in the Orenian towns, the father quickly rushed his children off back to the safety of the village. Fumble's only glimpse of the outside world was quite horrific, and it stopped him and his brother from ever leaving for a long time. One day Fumble returned from fishing by Lighthouse Lane and was waddling towards the tavern only to find a horrific scene. Men in dark strange metal clothes with massive butter knives were chopping at halflings running around screaming. They snatched up a few halflings, stuffed them in a sack, and marched off down the road. On their armor was a strange man, upside down with red clothes and white arms and face. Posco Bramble emerged from a bush to find Fumble crying behind the picnic table, he explained that the men, bigg'uns from the North, were of the family Blackmont and they lived in a massive burrow where they made massive knives called swords, and they liked to cut up gentlefolk for a life. The Blackmonts had been shouting about putting the halfling captives to work as a slave regiment in an upcoming war...
