[10:12:22 PM] Jason: i was the most feared king in orens history arguably [10:12:26 PM] Jason: the most well protected [10:12:30 PM] Jason: and i died [10:12:32 PM] Jason: surrounded by my men [10:12:35 PM] Jason: in a way i never expected [10:12:40 PM] Jason: in a place i never exptec [10:12:45 PM] Jason: it was cool [10:12:49 PM] Jason: i was talking to kalenz [10:12:57 PM] Jason: he was literally like 2 feet away from me and the guards with me [10:12:59 PM] Jason: and all the sudden [10:13:05 PM] Jason: piston blocks go off, blocking him perfectly from me [10:13:08 PM] Jason: i look around, confused [10:13:12 PM] Jason: in rp I even stutter [10:13:15 PM] Jason: Well I- [10:13:17 PM] Jason: and then the lava comes up [10:13:19 PM] Jason: and just like that [10:13:26 PM] Jason: the most dangerous man in athera is dead [10:13:32 PM] Jason: and that's real roleplay Why am I showing this to you? Because I'm hoping that some people will see it and see it as a reminder of what LoTC really is. Dynamic, go with the flow RP. A conglomeration of countless stories and decisions by hundreds of people that put us in the situations we play through. Did I plan on dying ? Certainly not, Was I happy about it? Not really. But the event was cool, it was spontaneous, it felt like for the first time in a long goddamn time that I was playing on the LoTC that I used to enjoy so much. My characters death will undoubtedly have an impact on the server in the weeks to come. Perhaps even months. He was a guy that genuinely wanted peace in all of Athera, but used war as a means to get there. He was a guy with goals that in my mind OOCly would end up benefiting the server. He had ideas that I personally were attached to, that I had worked hard on. And he died anyway, because of the actions of just a few players. Because in RP, he's just a guy like everyone else. Those few players have changed everything. And that's what so awesome. That's why I PK'd. Please consider that as players, none of us are better than the other. Not really. Being in a higher position in roleplay does not grant you special privileges or rights over other players. LoTC is about everyone being able to contribute to the story, not just the select few who rule over the rest. From the King who wanted to rule the world, to the disgruntled Elf that got upset he was being bossed around by a human. Everyone should be able to make an impact. Please remember that. Will (TauFirewarrior) 2466 Share Posted March 14, 2015 wow, kudos really I mean you've shown the entire server how to turn a situation that most people would rage about and quit skype groups etc but you turned it into something you'd see in a novel, it was great when I was there although my character was quite confused and tried to stop the guards from killing him haha.
