LotC has changed a lot since your Era Cataris, I remember you and your ilk from back in the day (although you, of course, will not remember me I do not believe)

 

PvP is the default since RP conflict was deemed unbalanced with no true outcome - it's a statement that says 'If you cannot decide between PvP and RP fighting then the easiest and most functional method of handling combat is PvP'

 

As to what has changed? A lot, a lot man. You left in Asulon?

 

To sum it up here is impossible. Welcome to Athera at least, I hope you enjoy it. It was modeled off of Aegis from back in the day, Native headed up developing - you may notice some minor similarities. It has it's flaws but we're working on attempting to patch it. Will we be successful? Only time will tell and I hope that you'll be around to see it or not.

 

My recommendation is don't get too lost in the old ways. I hated changing and I still mourn the loss of our previous maps but there are plenty of player groups that offer interesting opportunities and new perspectives if you are willing to get involved. Villainy RP is... not very good now a days and we're working on remedying the fact that no one RP's magic due to the fact there is no point.

Oren is being Oren,

High Elves are being Racist,

Druids are being ded,

Monks are being inactive,

Crafting is taking forever,

Magic is being cut down (yay),

World Edit is crashing the server I mean, whattt?

Forums are being revamped,

Toxic players are getting banned quickly,

Roleplay has had its ups and downs in terms of quality,

The White Ravens died D:,

Orcs are klomping in the deserts,

Kha have gone nearly extinct,

PVP default, meaning if you suck at PVP it sucks to be you,

Iblees may or may not be back, idk,

Development team lost two major members,

VIP bonuses were changed, though the benefits remain the same,

And sodomy is said to be sin :c.

Who is the ruling human kingdom, and what other human kingdoms are there? What is the geo-politics like? what are the relations between noble houses, and who are the noble houses? If you guys can catch me up on that, I'd be eternally grateful. Eternally.

Aside from that. Does my Gold donation still stand? Does that mean I get a plot? I don't know if Gold rank donation perms have changed. Is anyone willing to allow me to camp in their house until I find my own cottage? Or am I going into the deep end. I feel like Steve Rogers right now. Everything is going to be so confusing.

Woah, you are one of the few people I actually remember from Aegis. I remember talking to Archmage Cataris a few times. Glad to see you coming back aswell, it's always nice to see people from Aegis times returning.
