[Ooc] Notable Dwarven Figures Of Athera

Since the Elves were doing it, I thought maybe we should organize our own list of notable Dwarves, since we actually do not have any.

So far, I would think these people would fit will:

 

Lori (Ireheart) Oathcast - One of the richest people in Athera, along with one of the most influential people in world affairs. Along with being one of the most premiere golemancers in the land. He also created the Oathcast clan, a splinter clan of the Irehearts.

 

Balek Irongut: The most recent Grand King who has spearheaded many reforms that has both brought stability and prosperity to the kingdom, along with the return of many lost Dwarves. Also, one of the greatest architects to date. Also to note, has had no children nor looks to have any.

 

Zahrer Irongrinder: The first king to win by coin toss, he later brought the Dwarves into a long standing war against Oren, until finally leaving (or deposed, I forget), leading the way to Balek Irongut taking power. Also, the current holder of the armor of Urguan after stealing it from the kingdom.

 

Those are a few, with short descriptions, that I think should go on this wiki. Of course, they are subject to change since I myself am still a new Dwarf.

We did this once already, then later decided to abandon the whole "Notable figures" thing. Its just not really needed in my opinion. Let players figure out about history and culture out in game, it promotes further RP. All adding people to the wiki serves to do is boost the ego of current players. If you really wish though I could drag up the last list there was.

I think to some degree people should know some of the more notable figures in the race. I believe the pros out way the cons in this.

 

For one point, players can go into the world, knowing who these important figures are. For the people who say who is the Grand King in RP, while the Grand King is literally sitting right there next to them, is kinda ridiculous. Players should know these people, even if they were away from the kingdom, along with what they supposedly look like.

 

Another would be possible clan choices. For Dwarves, clans are our staple crop since they dictate our look, culture, and our best ways of communication.

 

I understand how learning about all this stuff in game is all well and good, but to some degree, players should know going in on who the important people are, since they generally create RP, to me that's common sense. Also, so what if it adds to peoples egos? I think it's fine for people to have that kind of mind set since they worked hard to achieve that kind of notability.

I actually hate the ego boosting system lol. The only paragon at any time I pay headance to is the super ancient dwain 1st paragon of being a fat lazy problem drinker by insisting that its bad luck to not finish your ale.
