monkeypoacher 8055 Share Posted May 29, 2015 Master farmer -> Alchemist inbound! Now I can supersede jistuma, and all with just a measly 38 shekels... with new donation features being implemented it would be nice to start seeing the money actually going somewhere to improve the server, for example a payed forum theme done by a professional web designer (current 1 looks like it was dl'd for free), some advertising (paying utubers or buying sponsors on voting websites) etc. the reason i've never upgraded from gold vip is bcos i've never actually seen money go anywhere besides keeping the server online and tythus' steam acct also this lol, advertising for 5.0 would do us wonders... christian2142 79 Share Posted May 29, 2015 This has literally got to be the biggest disappointment I have witnessed in my return to LotC... I'm not even going to go on about how crap this is. I'll just let the greed take over on this one and backfire like it inevitably will. That should suffice as speaking for me if and when it has an effect on the community, which is already divided and hateful enough as it is (especially towards Nexus professions). Aengoth 2890 Share Posted May 29, 2015 But when can I pay to become a GM or have secret lore added that makes Aengoth a demigod?
Skippy 2466 Share Posted May 29, 2015 Honestly remove this. If you're going to have a skill plugin, either make it so everyone can redirect their skills for free or have it so you strictly have to grind a skill up, you wouldn't be able to grind farming and move it to a more useful skill (IE enchanting/smithing/etc). Or get rid of all these annoyingly abusable game mechanics. ****

Charles_Grimlie 1072 Share Posted May 29, 2015 These used to be just donation features, why are we funding Tythus's steam game collection!?

KarmaDelta 969 Share Posted May 29, 2015 Just do stuff with the donation packs we have now. Update the list, add some cool stuff that is fair, and advertise it.
Salvo 1852 Share Posted May 29, 2015 No. No. No. No. One can legit get Legendary Woodworker/Farmer in one day. Want to switch that over to Enchanting/Blacksmithing/Lumberjacking/Alchemy? Such a dumb idea.
oblivionsbane 714 Share Posted May 29, 2015 -READ THIS- After serious thought I've found a way that moving skills as you've described could work. In this game along with most others there are two main types of skills: Gathering skills (Lumberjack, miner, farmer, fisher, and breeder.) Crafting skills (Blacksmithing, woodworking, stoneworking, tinkering, alchemy, enchanting, and leatherworking.) If you were to restrict switching to their specific types it would make this work. For example, woodworking can be changed to blacksmithing at the ratio you described. Alternatively, an aengelic miner could be changed to a near aengelic breeder. In all honesty, grinding up to aengelic, then switching to grind another 100k, wouldn't be easy. The only difference between different skills, realistically, is the cost to get to aengelic. I don't know about leveling blacksmithing, but I do know that getting to aengelic woodworker requires 26 double chests of logs, as a wood elf, making compost bins. This equals out to about 70,000 minas worth of wood (48 minas each stack). If you can't level any other crafting skills for around the same price then there are problems with balancing of skills that should be addressed. In the case of gathering skills, it should be based on the average amount of experience gained in one hour of working the skill. Lumberjack gives 4 each every time but you have to do a lot of it, miner does about .5 with stone, but it also has minerals that give you lots of experience to make up the difference. If things are so unbalanced between different crafting/gathering skills respectively then they should be addressed first before trying to implement something like this. Archbishop 1784 Share Posted May 29, 2015 Whilst i see new things and plugins being made that players do not ask for, why do you use your time to make this, that you've not even asked if players want instead of the brewery and magic plugin?

And while you're at it, allow us to make alternate bank accounts for stuff like government treasuries, corporations and guilds/militaries like I suggested in the plugin ideas forum. argonian 14254 Share Posted May 29, 2015 I'm sure the staff isn't sorry for attempting to offer new donation perks LIKE THE COMMUNITY ASKED FOR.No. Some people asked for new perks for existing donation ranks(which the staff spent years removing perks from), not microtransactions. Stop blindly defending them just because you used to be a GM.Imagine a world where LoTC is a hub for noobs! It would be brilliant. They learn to RP decently and follow rules pretty quick and they aren't elitist twats.
