Slight Update To Single Use Donation Rewards

 Share

Recommended Posts

Greetings guys and gurrlllssss,

In relation to what was announced earlier the skill redistribution plugin will be changed slightly so that points will go into 3 separate pools (Gathering, Crafting, Combat) that can only be spent on other skills inside their same pool. We might later allow inter-pool usage, but this will come with a ratio deduction/addition depending on perceived pool difficulty with possible other costs such as minas.

The current pools are the skills inside each one are as follows:

Gathering: Fisher, Breeder, Farmer, Lumberjack, Miner
Crafting: Chef, Woodworker, Stonemason, Tinker
Combat: Alchemist, Leatherworker, Blacksmith, Enchanter

We hope this change is to your liking and thank you for your time reading,

Tythus

and the community's concerns were silenced immediately.

This fixes nothing you are still by definition borderline pay to win, you are really missing the point of this, I don't understand how you who  holds the money can make such a terrible decision, its really a shocker to me that people still donate considering all these bad decisions and what has been used with their money so far lol.

Oh, I thought I should mention the thoughts mainly behind this change specifically and why we decided to introduce this as people have been asking exactly why we added these.

  1. To hopefully make our month to month income a bit less unpredictable we have had some major swings in donations from time to time. So for much the same reason we have adverts on the forums we wanted these to help make the swings less extreme.
  2. To have items that are at a lower price that are desirable by the community that we can give away in competitions or whatever more freely than VIP.
  3. To have sales involving these items attached to VIP such as a Xmas sale where we might give a free XP reset with every VIP purchase or w/e.

Imo alchemy should be in the Crafting profession. It isnt really all too used for combat and even less people have the profession cause its almost impossible to grind were the highest person in the profession (i believe jistuma) is only around adept rank. Either that or make it easier to rank up or have more uses.

So, I'm curious.

Assuming thought was put into these perks before they were implemented - that is to say, these weren't just thrown up as ideas to get people to spend money - what purpose was this supposed to be?

Was it so that if you eventually decide you don't want to do something anymore, you could shift it and hopefully not lose all that work?  Or was it so that people could do what the community is panicking about - grind an easier skill and then pay money to get that XP shifted to a harder one?

If you're acting as if your nexus plugins are representations of your in-character work in the subject, which I'm pretty sure is what they're supposed to be, what is the logic behind a big, burly miner suddenly becoming an expert at breeding animals?

You forget skippy, its near equivalent exchange. Its not like your paying for maxed skills. You still have to work for a skill to trade off to the other one.

But Tythus, I wish to have a finger within the pie that is LotC's financial status and promptly eat what ever sticks to said finger.

I don't see how doing this can make income more predictable it is as if you are assuming that the many to actually buy all these stuff actually agreeing with us that the goal is simply to make more money? So your argument is that making this more to pay to win can make the monthly income more predictable? I don't quite see the logic in this. Your basically attracting the wrong kind of mentality/crowd for the wrong server by adding more perks that are slightly modified to make more money that may or may not stabilize the income on the server? I think this is wholly unnecessary I doubt that the unpredictable amount of monthly income is your main concern and it really shouldn't be if it is.

And I also doubt that you ran out of money and if you did then what can I say but you are bad at the job, people donated thousands to the server from what ik and they always complain that they never see it being put to use, if you can't manage the money don't make us suffer more by really attracting and creating the wrong environment for the server.
