Tythus I would actually love a response because I always thought you were abit more reasonable sometimes not believing the myth of the steam games etc, but seriously thousands of dollars have been donated to you specifically and none of it has yet to be seen to be put in to use, making me wonder why stable monthly income has become an issue all the sudden. It makes me think you have been using donations for your own financial interests and not for the server which is why the urge for a stable income is now visible. 

 

And if you don't respond then I guess we can all assume the myth is true.

These Nexus plugins arent really RP at this point.

Always thought they were there to add a bit of realism like it was said by a few people.

In regards to alchemy - it will be changed to be more combat based as a brewing plugin will be added to replace the more RP aspects of alchemy.

 

As for RP reasoning behind it, it's meant to be used in unison with racial reassignment to set up a new character for you without losing your skill points. Though chaning the profession you RP is fine as well. Perhaps your character has been RPly enchanting for a while but you had smithing and woodworking and didn't want to lose levels, well now you transfer your smithing XP over.

  1. To hopefully make our month to month income a bit less unpredictable we have had some major swings in donations from time to time.

Was it so that if you eventually decide you don't want to do something anymore, you could shift it and hopefully not lose all that work?

 

This was my intention on that perk.

Stable server income might be the most important thing to keep LotC running. Most of it goes into the costs of hosting, DDOS protection, and hardware upgrades.  It's not like we've been running on the same hardware for 4 years, the server has been upgraded many times, and that takes money to do.  Just because you don't see all of the transactions doesn't mean the money's getting thrown around haphazard. Hosting isn't cheap, good DDOS protection is several hundred monthly, and believe me, I was around when we didn't have it, during Asulon LotC would be down a week or two at a time from massive DDOS attacks, we're not going back to that.

I've got close to him and I've never had LotC funds accessible, so I think your insinuation that he's used funds inappropriately to buy himself Steam games is perhaps skewed. He's got two more years on there than me too, so really there's not a huge surprising gap between us or anything.

If you put blacksmithing in crafting that would make it far more uneven again as farming is easy to grind and involves little resources whereas blacksmithing does. Also the main reason people level up blacksmithing is to get a higher percentage on weapons or better weapons so is therefore a combat skill.

Imo alchemy should be in the Crafting profession. It isnt really all too used for combat and even less people have the profession cause its almost impossible to grind were the highest person in the profession (i believe jistuma) is only around adept rank. Either that or make it easier to rank up or have more uses.
