To enact his influence across the realm, Niad is split into two selves, an innocent, mortal self. With no recollection of who he is and why he exists, and another, the true self. His mortal self holds no powers, no idea, of what he truly is. The immortal self on the other hand uses this mortal self as a viewing lense, and on occasion, a mouthpiece. Aside from this, the mortal self is totally unaware of his true purpose and lives out his or her life normally. The mortal self is essentially an incarnation of some soul Niad chooses from his lot of followers. In exchange for this high honor however, the beneficiaries of this ‘blessing’ are killed upon the mortal self’s birth. Thus the mortal self has a low chance of ever knowing what he or she truly is.

 

In doing this, Niad reduced his own power greatly, losing much of his immortal influence over the realms. Hoping to hold some sort of connection to the mortal world aside from this new creation of his-WIP

Do Daemons even have genders? Cus you know that 2nd self? Thats who I had in mind when I wrote this. Not the Daemon's gender itself..if they have any?

EDIT: Disregard the above, I'll be amending the lore tomorrow with the clairification that Niad is genderless as a Daemon but gender pronouns depend on the current mortal incarnation. Which as of now is a he until meets his end. Then it might be a she or another he. Who knows?
