Starfelt 1437 Share Posted June 20, 2015 Will a boat be provided, for the flood, or will people be expected to build their own boats to ride to Vailor?

_Jandy_ 3519 Share Posted June 20, 2015 Is there a land with hills for halflings to inhabit? How does somebody acquire land? Will all the Fauna & Creature lore from Athera be replaced? Will there be any special thing to find on the new map, like we found journals for Athera? Will animals spawn more frequently? Will the mining world be setup the same? Can we have an exact definition for what an RP item is (so there isn't any debate when we get to that time)? If we miss the transition events do we have to PK our characters? Will there be an antag for the next map? How far apart will nations be? Will Halflings be close to the Cloud Temple again? If the nations are far apart will there be a fast travel system? Can players bring fauna and creatures to the new realm? Will there be PVE/PVP on for the transition event? Are we allowed to take foodstuffs to the next map, or will we starve for the first week? Will it still be PVP default for the beginning of the new realm? Will the druids be getting a grove? Will there still be auctioneers and bankers? Any idea how long we will be in this map? Is 5.0 being worked on? Will the kha get their own land? Why isn't money being transfered? Thanks and can't wait!
E__V__O 2000 Share Posted June 20, 2015 Will the monks be getting a rebuilt temple. The leaders of the monks are currently working on lore which will boost up player-time of monks and possibly move some more to our rank. Or are racial spawns now a thing? Cola one 1 37 Share Posted June 20, 2015 What's happening with lockpicking, is it coming back in any way? Plugins, GM's observing like it was before, etc?
Readicti 902 Author Share Posted June 20, 2015 @Chao When brainstorming map names we came up with a couple we liked, all starting with A's actually. All of them didn't fit the map. Vailor was originally sort of a joke but it turns out everyone liked it! It fits with the lore and it's a pretty cool name so we stuck with it. @Hanrahan Though you've already have gotten an answer for this i'll say it again to make it all official looking, yes there are pine woods and lots of snow. @PinkLion You may have misinterpreted what I have said, for which i'm sorry if my wording was confusing. We will be allowing some form of item transfer with a plugin kowa is finishing up, you'll be given an explanation on how that works in a later plugin post. Minas I said were most likely not going to be transferred over. I only said we were unsure at this point because we haven't made a final decision, though it does seem very likely they aren't being transferred. @Rethai If everyone is absolutely in love with the map, the staff will talk about ways to extend its life. But from experience, a map usually loses it's excitement after a few months. In the end, we will do what's best for the player base. If that means moving, we'll move, if that means staying then we'll find ways to stick around. @TrevenT We haven't discussed it! I'll bring up up at the next GM meeting. @kallimar We haven't planned when we would be moving on from this map so for now just enjoy Vailor. We will be on it for quite a while. @Fimlin I'll bring it up with the builders if it's possible. If not we'll put it in the notes of what we would want in a future map. @Cyndikate Not the type of temp map most people think of. This is a map to fix the problems that were on Athera. Like I said, most of the plugin and spacing issues couldn't be fixed without a change in maps. @Kallimar I've been told a few GMs are working on a nice map so you'll get it when they're done~ I don't have a time frame on that yet. @Malgon We are still writing up how one would obtain land once on the map. It'll most likely be a mix of population, minas, and resources. We've also thrown the idea around about an actual event, but who knows. A post detailing how a sprouting town can obtain land in the next week or so. @EmoGuy Boats have been built for the main races. If you are unsure about which one to get on when it's time or have a group unsure of where to go you can PM myself on the forums or Man and Rael to help you figure that out. We want to make sure everything runs smoothly for the event. @Karma I have not heard anything about a change in currency so most likely not! If that changes, the community will be told. I'll get to the other questions up there in a second! Lot's to type haha
Archbishop 1784 Share Posted June 20, 2015 What if you've built a boat and you are not considered important enough race for "The Main four" eg halflings, druids and kharajyr. Im pretty sure all three have built boats, will they be world edited over for the transition also? When will an exact time for the transition be released? Readicti 902 Author Share Posted June 20, 2015 @Jandy There can be, yes. I explained this before, it'll most likely be some sort of proving you have the population but for now it's still getting the kinks worked out and you'll be informed about the Charter system in a later post. With the Fauna, possibly? I'll have to speak to the LMs, it's a new land so most likely not all of it will be the same. With the special items, there will be interesting locations on the map and so possibly. Animal spawning is a dev question, so i'll ask Kowa and bring it up with the GMs. At this point just assuming it's not changing. The mining world is the same and will be all ready when the map is open. With the RP items, a plugin is being made for it so it'll be announced in a future post. You've never had to PK if you've been busy for the event! You may choose to if you want but we're not going to force people to kill their characters because they're busy in real life. Antags haven't been discussed yet so we'll see. They will be made if we feel it's needed to help with the map. Nations are very far apart. We are using fast travels so that it's easier to get to. You can't bring your cows and such, this isn't Noah's ark. But if you have an rp animal you can continue to rp them in the next map. There has always been PvE/PvP for the transition events so i'd expect it in this one! Again with the food and items, there will be a plugin and explanation of what can and can't be brought. So you'll have to see. If you can't bring food, you'll most likely have nations very quickly setting up farms. So far yes there is going to be PvP but we can bring it up in the next meeting to discuss because I understand no one wants to lose their building materials while trying to build the capitals. Druids do not have land designated for them and they'll have to gain land like everyone else. Yes there will still be bankers and auctioneers. This is not a temp map and so like I've said you can expect to be on this map for quite a while. This is a new map, and you shouldn't be worried about how long we're staying on it is all I can say. Let us worry about the times, you just roleplay. We've just made this map! 5.0 will come out when we need it to come out. Kha are no longer and official nation so if they wish to get their own land, they can use the charter system like other people. For money this is the scenario we've sort of explained for it. If you're running for your life, money would not be the first thing you grab. Or maybe the ship captains took all our money for saving our lives. It's just not going to be brought over. You'll gain your money back in the new map. @Evark There isn't a cloud temple in the sense of what we've seen so far. So the Monks will be able to take care of the ruins of an old Elven temple, which is going to be spawn. The builders and development team decided that sandstone wasn't the prettiest of materials! @Cola I do not see a lockpicking plugin coming in the future at this moment so it'll continue to be something GMs look over. If something like that changes, i'm sure the Dev team will inform us. @Adam The exact time and details on the event will be announced in a future post. The druids will most likely be sailing over with the elves. The rest will be announced in the post so at this moment assume you'll have to ride with another group. @Sand You've already confirmed this with Kowa ;3 That's what I've been told.

Due to in lore of discovering new lands as what people have been told as the monk playerbase has also taken ahold of. Are the monks still in lore and roleplay (not in character) the first men and women to step on the Vailor's new lands and discover a safehaven of land for them to reside in and contact the other races to come join. (Monks arrive first, give the heads up that it's safe, everyone comes). --- While also will it be possible that the monk playerbase able to build in the "elven" temple? The reason why the monks did use sandstone was significant as it didn't give bias to other races therefor upholding neutrality. If it looks like a elven structure wouldn't it bring bias to the temple? (We almost had a fight with the humans when druid shops where built on the temple grounds even though they where shops) ---- Edit: In all the history of the monks it's been sandstone, reading over the wiki it doesn't say the monks lived anywhere else but the temple which is fully made of sandstone. It's quite odd of this change.

(We almost had a fight with the humans when druid shops where built on the temple grounds even though they where shops) Going off of this... It would've been nice to actually have been informed or told of this change on the Cloud Temple. I sent a PM to another GM and they told me "It's different, just wait and see". I'm one for surprises and stuffs, but we are here and we should have a say in the decision of the Temple. I don't think another group would like this, for example the dwarves were told they must live above ground because it's hard to find them in the mountains. I'm not trying to strike negativity, and I'm not saying it's a bad decision (I agree, sandstone is monotone), but like Ttwesten said it can be found as biased between the races, which the Monks cannot be. I can be easily contacted, so can Ttwesten if wanting to contact zee monkies ;).
Z3r05t4r 855 Share Posted June 21, 2015 Considering if the map is not big enough, you retained the original shape to a certain degree, allowing for the third continent to be added at leisure.
