New Race: Deformeds

Overview

Hey LOTC! My persona is "An Abby", the living embodiment of my lore idea. My idea is for a new race called the "Deformeds", which are basically deformed and insane humans. They are able to communicate with each other, but not with other species, unless they are taught.

My character has been captured, killed, etc. is a Deformed. The reason I called them "An Abby" is because that way they can die over and over, coming back as a new creature entirely. Deformeds can learn Common, if it is taught to them. One of my Deformeds was actually trained and taught to speak by another user. They can also be studied, for they have great potential.

Why am I applying for it as a new race? I've already created mine. The reason is that mine is unset. I want players to actually be able to play as a Deformed, without having to act like they're making it up and being questioned by other players. Because deformed and insane humans are allowed, Deformeds can be created currently without needing an actual race.

Language

The Deformeds have no official language, but they communicate with each other through various screeches and roars. These are not done in normal chat, but in between asterisks. For example, *roars*. They can be taught to speak other languages, such as common, by a trainer, but many things must be remembered when being trained or being a trainer. For example, my character was taught to say "FRIENDNEE TAH ORAN NAH WAHPON NAH HAHRM (Friendly to Oren, no weapon, no harm)". However, my Deformed uses it out of context a lot, as it was (for that Deformed died) the only thing it knew. Because Deformeds have the capacity to learn, my persona learned to use that expression when a sword was pointed at it.

As a trainer, you should remember a few things. One: Deformeds are not able to associate words with meaning unless it is given to them. Saying "sit" is meaningless unless you do it every time you say "sit" until they learn. Remember to say words over and over and sound them out in order for them to learn meaning.

Education

As I mentioned in "Language", Deformeds have the capacity to learn. Therefore, they can go to school once they have been taught Common or can go to school to learn languages. Many schools may not be open to Deformeds, as they are very close to killing machines and most of the time do not speak normally. If a school isn't open to Uruks or Kharajyr, it will not be open to Deformeds.

Society

Deformeds form their own societies, almost as wolves form packs. They do not build shelters, but rather go where they need to in order to survive. Most Deformed packs have a leader. If a Deformed wants to lead, they must brutally kill all competition. Their society is very similar to that of Uruks.

Regular society regards them interestingly. Educated members of the different races recognize Deformeds as mentally-damaged humans, or decide they would like to help the creatures turn into normal civilians or pets. Less educated members of the races regard Deformeds as demons and try to execute them, especially within the Canonist faith.

Food

One of the most controversial parts of Deformeds is their diet. They will eat whatever is needed in order to survive and will do anything for it. This means they will eat civilians, rotten food, or anything else they can get their hands on. Most Deformeds are either scavengers or hunters, either finding food through stealing and scavenging and sometimes begging or by killing their prey.

Deformeds have a resistance to rotten food, as do certain types of Uruks.

Questions?

Have any more questions about how I envision the race? Please comment them and I will comment back, also adding them to the topic start itself. If you private message me questions, I will also add my answers to here. Thanks for reading!

I wouldn't want one anyway. Kha was a mess and a stain we cannot remove.

This doesn't sound like a new race. Just a culture/phycological state of a current race. Move away from the race idea or you may find this denied before its given a chance. It's also akin to feral elves.

Edit: maybe a virus or curse that does this? If they come back as a "new" thing after every death maybe the curse just wipes them clean and as they are brought back the curse has an effect on their body/the way they look.

I would love this,

Even if races were being accepted, this just seems more like an existing race be it human, elf or such that has a birth defect or deformed and has mental restraints much like current people. This is already possible to role-play as with little difficulty.

Even though I do not like the Kha so much, they were not a mess in the beginning. TBH it was more the Kha hater's faults they turned into ****.

I'd submit this as a playable-creature that you don't need permission to play as.

I would personally play this creature if there was more lore added. I do like the idea of some dark magic curse on a town that began it all, or something similar so they aren't a new race, but an altered one of what we have atm. I would, however, restrict it to maybe just the humans for the sake of simplicity unless you want it a different way.

As far as more lore that needs to be added, what do they look like? How do they react to those they meet if they don't know common, if they do, or if they are hostile? How do they get hostile? Can you breed them like pets(if that is one of the ways to rp this creature) or are they just repeating their life over and over from the curse?

There are alot of things that could be cleared up or added, and it would give it a chance to be accepted easily.

I'm fairly confident that you can play this without the need for a race lore as its an already existent race (Humans.) Lore isn't really necessary, even if it's a virus of sorts. You could easily just make your character deformed and further deformed psychologically. Meaning you don't really need lore for it either way, but if you wanted them to be prominent that's up to finding people who want to join you in that sort of RP, not making lore for it.

Whether or not they need to be approved entirely depends on how they were created.

Lore ideas in roleplay ideas section are being cleaned up.

If you don't contact me within 4 days this unfinished lore will be moved elsewhere.
