With the posting of the new Guide to Druidic Magic comes a return to the original lore and magic for Druidism as found here: https://www.lordofthecraft.net/topic/90140-old-druidism-guide/ As such there will be some changes to the way Druidic Magic is currently being used, though it shouldn’t be anything too drastic.

Changes and Clarifications

Nature’s Communion

Very little change. As always, a druid must advance in this subtype before any others, and none of the other subtypes can surpass the level of his abilities in Nature’s Communion.

Control of Nature

Again, little change. To clarify, Control of Nature is the act of empowering plants to grow or move through the connection that druid has with the Aspects as a result of their attunement. You can request a plant to move, but that alone will not make a plant move. The druid must expend some effort into it. As such, you cannot simply ask nature to protect you and then run or hide - the druid must be focused on the plants they are controlling. This will also tire them to varying degrees depending on the strength of their connection and how long they have been a druid.

Blight Healing

Few changes. Blight Healing is the act of cleansing nature (limited to plants and the earth - blight healing does not work on animals or people) through channeling the Aspects’ power.

Nature’s Healing

The biggest change, or rather un-change. In the original guide by Arik Nature’s Healing is simply herbalism combined with Control of Nature. The druid uses their Druidic Magic abilities to enhance and bring out the healing properties in herbs. They can also use their Control of Nature to make leafy bandages or casts of bark.

They cannot use any form of life force to heal. The implementation of life force is problematic to the consistency of druidic lore, and some druids in the past have even tried to use it to harm by draining life force. Firstly, this infringes on the purpose of necromancy; secondly, it is not consistent with other druidic lore and magic.

Unfortunately this will mean that those who currently roleplay Nature’s Healing will need to alter how they perform the magic, however this is necessary to maintain cohesion with other lore.

That's all for now. Thank you, and happy roleplaying!

! I haven't seen this until now, that means that [with the healing part] Druids cannot actually magically heal the bryophites like they used to. I'll have to make a post on my own about that. Glad I saw it : )
