Like, everyone complains that the server needs a upgrade/dedicated warclaim server but sadly it would cost money.

 

So lets have a donation drive so its paid for? I mean that's the only way we could honestly do it tbh, we can't do it without money.

If we knew the drive would actually go towards improving the server (regardless of it's for lag, ddos protection to stop the disconnects, hiring people to code, whatever), I'd donate again.

I mean... again, there are still issues that would persist even if we had a completely separate server for warclaims as the issue is Minecraft related, not server related. However, I'm not the techy guy around here, Tythus is. I'll talk to him and maybe try and figure out what specs we have currently and what an upgrade would cost compared to what we pay now.

If tythus gave us a statement on what a ''above the curve'' donor increase would produce, I would definitely love to hear our ''drive'' goals we could produce.

Even if we had a server with 512gb of ram it wouldn't help. Even if it was dedicated to pvp and nothing but pvp - minecraft as a platform cannot handle higher than... 100 players in a condensed area fighting.

 

It's the platform - Minecraft does not support the scale of Combat we wish to do. 100v100 is, technically, possible, but it will always, regardless of power of the box, lag to hell. Minecraft isn't a massive pvp platform.

Any major server that has a ton of players on it breaks up their load by distributing players to worlds in certain quantities.We don't. We put every player on one big map and... let them go at it.

 

You never see one of those servers doing 100v100. 50v50 is the highest. 100v100 is logistically insane to anyone who manages a server. It's a logistical nightmare that really was born due to never wanting to put a foot down on it, relating it to issues that aren't actually what causes the issue, like the server specs.

All us donators have flooded more than enough IMO, I once got told that the server makes around 20 Grand a month, may be a mass exaggeration!
