Stag 3231 Share Posted November 13, 2015 (edited) So I decided to demote myself down back down to just my ET rank to focus on building and story creation. I want to help give more places to explore and find treasure and I can’t do that if I am spending my time doing modreqs and fixing broken rules. For those of you who don’t know I made basically all of the fringe as a side project by myself before its implementation as a temp map. I want to start doing stuff like that again. Also I think I suck at being a GM, especially after this term. Wanna know how many people I have banned in the last four months? Maybe one. Actually back when Viper was GM lead my role on the GM team was basically developer. I have never excelled at handing out punishment and so I am filtering into a position where I won’t be doing that anymore. If I had my way I would have the developer team back (and make the techies, techies again) and have developers storyboarding, collaborating and reaching out to community members and driving forward RP through events and community celebrations. When was the last time we had an event calendar? Anyways I am writing this thread to the community, to those aspiring to be Global Moderators or any sort of staff. I am writing to the new players and old players and everyone in-between; Be friendly. I spent a large part of my time as GM (3 years) with a strangely snappy attitude and I apologize to anyone if you had been effected by that. However when I came onto the team this time around I knew that I wanted to be as friendly as I could. I was happy doing modreqs even when I wasn’t because I knew it would make the players happier. I haven’t regretted having to do a single modreq in the last few months. Truth be told they are a large part of the reason I no longer wish to be GM though and I know other players will be better at them than I. Collaborate. When we work together, even with the ones that pissed us off in the past everyone becomes alright. Everything settles down and you can enjoy yourself again. To be honest when I was on the same team as CosmicWhaleShark aka Wardog I didn’t know how it would go. Wanna know how it’s gone? Fine. He is swell dude and I have a lot of respect for him now. Enjoy yourselves. Sometimes things suck and sometimes they really really suck. I still think there is always a way to enjoy yourself. One No is just rock in my way. I can go all around the rock. I don’t have to pick that rock up and carry it with me. :-) My messages aren’t super important but it felt necessary to share a few of my thoughts. I don’t think I will be rejoining the Global Moderator team again but I think that I will be staying on the Event Team for a good long while and hopefully I will be able to gift to you guys some neat stuff! TLDR; - I am stepping down but GM but remaining on the ET- You don’t have to deal with GM kitten anymore!
