For Whom The Bell Tolls

The Halfling would wake not to rings this morn, but to shock. The old Lenfarthing bell is long gone, carefully screwed from the hinged, losted off by, you'd guess, at least two young Halflings.

The Only Thing left behind is a pinned note, written in elegant black ink.

"Dear Halflings.

For too long have you owned this old bell, this symbol of Halfling cunning. Long ago, my forefather, the Sky Thief, stole this bell for Lenfarthing, reaping the old gold and sweet cherished gain. No longer does it stand for what it was, it is but a former glory. I will bring back our old tradition, I will bring us wealth, and I will make us famous again, as thieves, and pickpockets, as sly, mischief scoundrels. Make it known if you are friend or foe to my hands, Halfling brothers, because otherwise, you too are at risk of losing your wealth.

-A Mad Dog"

"What kind of person is named Mad Dog that isn't a halfling?" the infinite knowledge that he is squeaks to himself.
