Plagiarism Rule Extension: Art

Just like builds, skins and other forms of art created by a fellow Lord of the Craft member can be reused or straight up copied without their explicit consent. When it comes to skins, obviously there will be a level of discretion used if the copied skin is very different from what it claims to be a copy of, this should come natural to any accusation of plagiarism.

As is well known there is a market for art, specifically skins on Lord of the Craft. Many very talented community members spend hours creating pieces of art including but not limited to skins. For this reason the GM team have not deemed it fair that something that usually goes for a hefty sum or minas, or as a gift to a friend should be so deviously ripped without the consent of the original creator at the least.

Please note if your skins are on any public website such as PlanetMinecraft or similar, make sure that you leave a disclaimer which states that they cannot be reused for Lord of the Craft if you wish to do so.

Uniforms of other stolen in roleplay from corpses and such are exempt from this for they obviously serve a purpose beyond what has been mentioned. However just in case records should be kept of obtaining the uniform.

Remember that if you find someone using a plagiarised skin to remove it first, warning them that it is a rule. Making ban reports or contacting a GM without trying to resolve the situation is not appropriate unless the person(s) in hand refuse.

What's to stop you from saying that you made the skin? Curious.

I would think that most people who make skins would keep the original file somewhere. So they would probably have the original on hand.

It's a skin.. Anybody can just download the file and claim that they made it.

Thank you. THANK YOU.

If you liked a skin style, just go ask the maker if you can commision. If they refuse, deal with it and find someone else for god's sake.

What if you get a skin made by a friend and use it for a while but then later they decide to claim plagiarism to get  back at you for something or whatever?
