Most skin makers can be recognized by their style, some people use very similar style but still have something in them which makes them unique.

@AGiantPie

If you don't trust your friends save proof of the conversation.

It's all very vague.

There are a buncha ways to tell if someone steals a skin, just like there are a buncha ways to tell if someone stole art.

and -1 rep for maplestory icon... shame...

Please tell me on the many ways that people can tell if somebody steals a skin.. Lets try it right now.

"I made this skin"; S7tuN6B.png

"I even have the original file"; 1611d17dc96b41735cc22e4795e1f052.png

What I am getting at, is that, if you are going to make a rule, atleast make that rule somewhat solid.. No transparency..

Also, Maplestory is life.

and then i go here

And then i go here

and then we compare dicks (Also that's an irrelevant argument. It's like saying if someone took my icon and claimed they made it??? like ok, prove you made it.....??? It would be simple for me to go and livestream me drawing some **** if i really wanted to go through the effort of proving to everyone that i can draw but WAIT LETS SEE IF THE OTHER DUDE CAN!! It's just common sense. I'm also laughing because I didn't even really make then skin aha. I would however be happy to point you towards all the skins I /did/ base it off of, which would strangely enough disprove you made it).

---

The rule was put in place to stop people who steal already protected skins. If someone uses the skin and it is obviously theirs, and then someone else starts to use it, that's stupid and the original creator has the right to get them to stop using it (unless for the reason stated in OP). Duh, once again, it's common sense.

If someone makes a skin, puts it on planet minecraft and says something like 'hey dont use', then using/editing it without their permission is illegal irregardless of what /lotc/ says is or isnt against the rules (just like digital art, etc). But if it doesn't say anything explicit, or hell, even says 'feel free to use', then go for it. This announcement wasn't to simply be like 'lol yall are expected to do this because im tellig you to'; it was intended to let people know if they're CAUGHT doing this than they're subject to punishment. Just like how some people on lotc get away with using modded clients.

Its a rule to highlight and remind the LoTC players that plagiarism is not allowed here either.

If you're going to rant, at least make it somewhat solid..
