i hate how people feel the need to fellate each other because there was a bit of melodrama backlash

 

even if people acted too extreme in some cases, many concerns brought up were very fair and nobody but the admins need to be apologizing for how it turned out; playerbase reacted in exactly the way they should, because nothing short of ******* revolt inspires any sort of reaction from the admin mean. the youtube guy doesn't really need to apologize, because he wasn't involve, he just heard of a server and wanted to join it

 

the only people that objectively fucked up were the admins/staff that didn't communicate and gave someone special treatment because they are popular on youtube

 

my suggestion is, if mr gizzy gazza actually wants to play on the server or even make a small set of videos with the server, try your best to be completely anonymous. just get a different account, make an app, join the server, roleplay, and then post your videos or whatever. don't even tell the staff who you are. that will be the ONLY way for you to actually experience the server.

The only thing I can't wrap my head around is this special event-like place to advertise the server...

I mean this guy just does a let's play of the server, and still brings in a few people, even without staff assistance. 

 

But regardless, I'm angry at the staff not you Gizzy, I could give a rat's tail about the age of a RP'er, or their certain flavor of rp. I welcome the chance of new players from these videos these youtubers fix up, but things could've been planned a whole lot better from our staff team.

 

Though as in regards to Pandann's post I appreciate their effort, especially Freema's, for if they think this will work, I'm willing to give this a shot.

Well, untill the videos are posted and the players who interacted with our mutual friend notice him and figure out his IGN.

What I want to say, and what many others are saying is that I certainly suggest you hop on an anonymous account and try LOTC from a players perspective. I'm certain that you would enjoy it, and if you decide to record it that would give your subscribers a much better feel of what we are.

Who knows? Maybe you may end up really liking LOTC?

I for one would love to see you come and the server and advertise us. Thank you for responding with formality and level-headedness to our extreme reactions. I want to back up others and say, we are more angry at the staff than you, they did not let us know this was going to happen earlier.

Gizz, may I call you Gizz? Well, Gizz looking through your channel and skimming through various videos (most importantly the roleplay series one) I have learned a couple things, first of all that I don't fit into the niche audience that this falls into and secondly that the roleplay in your videos are far from what LotC does. Gizz, allow me to explain.

 

Your videos are heavily scripted with either clear cut punch-lines to jokes or off the cuff humour, whereas Lord of the Craft tries to pride itself off of dynamic and flowing roleplay experiences. Then your series has placeholders to new age sort of jokes as well as modern culture references, whereas Lord of the Craft is a fantasy minecraft server that heavily rotates around it's already established lore.

Age and 'niche' doesn't mean anything if people learn how we do things on this server.

 

I am sure people will see that if they get accepted. If problems arise that's why we have a team of moderators. It's like people don't know we have security on here.

We're glad you're apologizing (Despite there not actually being anything you need to apologize for...)

 

And as many others before me have said, it's the staff and Scene21 we're mad at, not you or Cib. I'm okay for the posting of the video, the only downsides really is the amount of stress the AT will receive. Hopefully we'll get a good bunch of RPers from the video, and perhaps you could go on an ALT to play LoTC; would give you a proper feel of what LoTC's all about.

Hey everyone just had the time to look back at this (been at a gym/had lunch) and wow so much positivity it's super awesome to see you all be so kind!

 

Like I said the last thing I want to do is upset you guys the community of LOTC. So while at the gym I had a chance to think about my next actions and I think I will upload the video on Friday, but make a very valid introduction informing that this is a very serious roleplay server which requires an application form to be signed to join.

 

I'm going to quick now respond back to most of the main points discussed in the replies:

 

Skins:

Like I said in the first post, if I knew it was mandatory it wouldn't have been an issue. It was mentioned in the teamspeak chat before recording but when asked if we could keep our normal skins, they said yes. If I knew it was mandatory I would happily have changed it. Please be aware though that Cibseption (my friend) IS a duck on Minecraft. He will NOT be changing his skin because it wouldn't make sense on his channel. However, we can give him a medieval duck skin if that works?

Second, it is NOT HITLER. I saw some people in the response say it's hitler. It's a tongue and mouth. TONGUE AND MOUTH XD (I get that all the time it's cool, an unfortunate branding of the skin I can't go back on now).

 

Scene 21:

When Scene contacted me via email, he gave me the impression that he was one of the owners of LOTC. I was not happy after later talking with Telinir to learn he is not in fact an owner nor should have contacted me. Now reading these responses learn he didn't even inform you guys I would be invovled in the server or answer any questions. I'm sorry if my sudden arrival caused some concerns, I understand. I've blocked Scene21 on all accounts and only talk directly to Telinir now.

 

Staff:

It seems that the main majority of at fault was the staff of LOTC not informing you guys about me filming, or setting things up correctly. For me personally I thought they did a really good job at looking after me and making sure my experience was great, I had a really good time filming. But of course, they upset you guys though. I can't apologise for them but I have been informed that this is the first time they've worked with a big youtuber in a very long time. Of course there would be some teething problems and it's a new experience no one is use too.

Yes, my roleplay is a little different to you guys. Infact at this point I don't even call my videos "roleplay" anymore, but "shows" because you're right. The roleplay is very different to you guys, and if anything THIS SERVER is roleplay, and my channel have SHOWS. I work on shows on my channel, and this is a roleplay server. So yes my channel and this server is very different.

Like we've stated before, a duck skin of any kind really wouldn't work as it doesn't fit into our server's lore. If you're planning to do further non-anonymous filming with Cib, I'd suggest getting a proper racial skin. He seemed to of created his persona as a Wood Elf, maybe you could get him a Wood Elf skin?

There is one thing that I see that will happen as a result of the videos. GizzyGazza and the other guy will be roleplaying a certain race (most probably wood elf or human) and due to this all their fans will apply to play the same race to play with their youtube idols. Leaving the smaller races such as Orcs ((If you'd class them as a smaller race.. no trigger please!)), Halflings and Kharajyr pretty much dead compared to the other races which the youtubers will play.

Well, you do have a point. On that part (assuming the youtube gents agree) videos explaining the races and demonstrating some of their roleplay would be convenient. For fair measure.

I dont want to derail the thread, but @Adam_barnett if the smaller races grow smaller then maybe you should try and make changes or find ways to make the race more appealing! The reason why humans, dwarves and elves dominate the server is because they have lots of in-depth lore, tons of cultures and societies to join and storylines that people enjoy. Maybe the khajayr are just meant to be niche, who knows.

 

Oh and Z3r0 brought up an interesting idea, I imagine a big youtuber like our friend Gizzy here could make videos explaining the races and perhaps even nations much better than our own media team. No offence VMS but we haven't really seen much come out of you in a long time and an experienced youtuber surely would have better production value and better product than our ragtag bunch.

It is very possible for them to anonymously play as a few different races.
