Character Info

 

Name: Elwrick Albright

Biography: Born in the Halfling village in Athera. He has a younger brother named Tiphon, who had been a close companion during his childhood. They got into trouble often, always running off and worrying their parents sick. When he was 26, he lost his left eye in a sparring match with sticks which started out friendly but soon became wild and competitive. They got in enormous trouble and since then, Elwrick has been much more cautious and skeptical, and stays inside more. Tiphon, with regret, started finding him boring. He and his brother grew distant, and now that they don't live in the same house with their parents, they almost never talk unless Tiphon got himself into trouble with his girlfriend.  

Elwrick spent a lot of time at the library reading up on books he didn't already own, fascinated by history and the great feats of Petyr Brandybuck and others. Now, Elwrick works mending clothing. After the mighty worm attack, he moved to Vailor with everyone else, settling in at Willow Hollow. He's remained single since he was 31 and sometimes feels as though he has only his books to keep him company, even though he has many acquaintances. He lingers in the less populated rooms of parties while chatting with other attendees, in the audience at nearly every game of Shog, and in his home.

 

Personality Traits: Genteel, reclusive, and somewhat standoffish at first meeting or if he's woken during the pre-dawn hours of the morning. He holds a very secret passion for romantic novels, though he's embarrassed by it, and he enjoys works of writing, art, theatre and music although he seems very critical and picky about it. When praised, he tends to deny it or credit his success to someone else. He has an interest in magic but doesn't know how to perform any himself. He rarely speaks of his personal life or of his dabbling in various research, but when he does, it's like a history lesson and no one can bear to listen to him. He's a very outgoing and good-humored drunk though.

 

Ambitions: He's an aspiring writer, and in his spare time, he works on writing his own novels in hope of gaining recognition for his expertise in fiction. He wishes secretly that he had a girlfriend, or just someone to keep him company.

 

Strengths/Talents: A fast reader and learner, witty, can read simple elvish, not too quick to trust people. He's skilled at sewing (but not so much the pattern-making because he just mends the clothes) and embroidery.

 

Weaknesses/Inabilities: Poor depth perception, poor stamina, short and smol, has a sharp tongue.

 

Appearance: Fair-skinned with curly dark brown hair prematurely turning grey around the temple, usually tied back but otherwise would just barely fall to his shoulders. His eyes were both deep green, but his permanently damaged right eye is covered with a black eye patch.

Height: 2'10"
