The Greatswords form the elite core of heavily-armored infantry who are promoted from the ranks of the Landsknechte for their exceptional skill, bravery, and courage on the battlefield. Greatswords are amongst one of the greatest and most expensive asset within the Landsknechte. These men are decked-out with extremely expensive and well-forged plate armor, and are armed with massive two-handed swords called Zweihanders, weapons so powerful that they have the potential to cleave a fully-armored Knight in two. Due to their expensive equipment and years of irreplaceable training, the Rothesays are very hesitant to send these troops into battle, and only when in the most dire of situations when the battle hangs in the balance will these mighty warriors be sent in droves. However, due to upholding their duties, most Greatsword of the Landsknechte are generally used as castle guards and garrison troops for important castles and fortresses belonging to the Rothesays, and would follow them on many state affairs. On some occasions, the Rothesays would select a champion to lead the Greatswords into battle. Such an honor is reserved for only the greatest warrior within the Landsknechte.

Antens Swordsmen

Swordsmen are one of the most common basic line-infantry fielded by the Landsknechte. Swordsmen are expert fencers, equipped with the standard swords and shield and fight in a loose formation which allows them to maneuver in close combat. These daring soldiers are often romanticized by poets as tall dashing figures, often bravely engaging the best enemy fighters with only their bravery and combat skill, striking an opponent's weak spot while knowing how to defend himself with his battle-worn shield. This, along with their tremendous skill with the sword and their flexible formation makes them a tough challenge for even the most skilled opponents, providing the Landsknechte with powerful offensive capability. They wear highly ornamental half-plate armor that bears the emblems of the Rothesays, their lands, and other personal heirlooms and talismans.

Ravenna Halberdiers

Halberdiers are one of the most common basic line-infantry fielded by the Landsknechte. Equipped with the fearsome halberd, a long-shafted weapon with a heavy blade, this weapon is capable of smashing through heavy armor and the tough hides of deadly creatures in equal measure. Wearing only a chest-plate, these men go to combat without a shield, but bravely engages their enemies in a tight formation, using the powerful swipes of their blade to compensate for their lack of armor with bone-crushing force. Such troops are suited for both defense and offense, capable of holding ground in a narrow passage against numerically or physically superior opponents, as well as being the spearhead of a massive assault.

Rese Pikemen

Pikemen are one of the most common basic line-infantry fielded by the Landsknechte. Equipped with a costly manufactured pike, a formation of pike makes an excellent defensive unit. Those who charge a well-formed unit of pikes are faced with an impassable wall of sharp steel points, providing an "Anvil" for the Landsknechte whilst the "Hammer" strikes the killing blow. With their long reach, each rank of Pikemen are able to strike at their enemy, even when they themselves are not within the front ranks.

Sundholt Archers

Archers are adaptable troops and fight in a loose skirmish screen to help support their brothers on the field of battle. These archers are masters of the wilderness that they have lived all their lives in, skilled in the practice of tracking and hunting from which they use to help patrol the forests surrounding their homes. Armed with little more than a bow and their wits, these grim warriors are adept at luring their quarry into lethal ambushes, where the full might of the Landsknechte can easily exploit and utterly destroy the Empire's foes.

[[ Note: In-order to join the Landsknechte, I ask that you send a letter to Adrian Rothesay (On the thread or via private message) to let me know that you are interested. After-such, I will ask you for a meeting ingame.]]
