Aknu'gul; The Beckoning

For a second time the vault to the ruins below the northern mountains was opened, stone grinding against stone as the ebon hallways to the Shade Gem awaited, and the slender visage of Vorroch traversed its depths as the torches dotting the walls ignited as he neared, illuminating his incomprehensible path, winding down into a room cast alight via an ebon flame with scarlet engravings littering the obsidian below, thrumming with raw power albeit were unusable, locked.

The Crystal of Cinder sat steady, idly hovering three inches above the ebon flame as semi-transparent links of blight had sprouted from the crystalised energy, binding blight to blight, and entity, to its Mother; the eternal abyss that is, Aknu’gul, beckoned the slender figure, and he paced toward the object-- to cast aside what is already lost, he clasped his hand around the Gem.

Shortly after the shattering of chains rumbled amidst the mountains as the blight clutching Asarielle and Lorien’s soul was torn in two albeit afflicted the duo with horrific nightmares even still, for the terrors of the abyss cannot be forgotten, let alone avoided. Shortly after the shattering of chains two pulses bellowed along the earth, unlike the last, it afflicted mortality to the very soul.

Unbeknownst to most except for few who listened, the Shadefathers of yonder demanded more, souls, blight, to feed the crystal and sate her everlasting need for companionship; each man, woman, and child would feel the ominous pulse differently, to few, it was a pull, akin to a chain linked to their frame, others would merely shrug it off-- none may know the Shades’ intent, but they certainly knew something beckoned mortality.

Spoiler

Quickly written, I’ve tried to express the intent of opening up the Shade group due to a lack of members. We’re interested in the expansion of the group. Anyone interested, be sure let us know-- We cannot guarantee a Shade, but we can guarantee some form of RP.

Nae'blis looks up from the piece he had been writing in the candlelight, his lean frame slowly rising from the chair to begin pacing the small room that would be his home below the mountain. Finally he'd sigh, shrugging to himself as he flings open the door. He'd begin to make his way down the dark hallway, shadows tracking his form as he meanders his way through the dark recesses of the mountain "Finally..." he'd say quietly, almost to himself  "...it's time."

"I feel a culmination of the Old Dark ..." States the Ashkeeper Abdiel whom, unbeknownst of this transpiration, likely referred to something else by coincidence.

It beckoned. It coerced. It pulled.

Ereinion Taloha clutched the wood of his broom. His eyes were shut and he stood his ground, yet it still called for him. It bribed him with the same thrill he'd come to enjoy.

A thrill of total wrongness.

He stayed strong and refused to answer the call.

The sound of silence. The sound of a prayer broken. A tall, blonde individual startled out of his daily offerings.

"The Siren Song of Iblees.." He'd mutter, eyes half-hooded, "Why now of all times, do I hear it.. Deus adiuvante, I must resist."

The sound of worship. The sound of a prayer renewed. Ianril the Waveharp resumes his daily offerings with fervour.

A tree, particularly humming with life, harbors a Dryad.

Katal looks out over the coast in silence as a small purple Sprite dances around the canopy of her Oak tree.
