~Royce Andre~

Age: 25

Height: 5”9

Weight: 150 lbs.

Race: Southernos

description: He usually wears typical heartlander apparel. Sometimes, depending on the weather, he’ll wear a large fur-leather coat. Even though he has a very small frame, he’s pretty buff and built. He also wears very thick glasses due to his poor vision. Aside from Royce being bald, he’s also very handsome due to his chiseled jawline, his refined cheekbones, and his dreamy eyes. He also carries around a notebook every so often to sketch in or write notes.

Personality: Very social yet awkward at times. He tends to get easily irritated by arrogant, blunt, or dumb people (even though he’s arrogant and blunt at times). He’s also very caring and helpful to most of his friends and people. He tends to have a habit of needing to prove his point a lot. Although very serious, he’s also very fun and quirky at times to lighten up the mood.

Ambitions: He aims to learn about the world around him, become diverse, and pursue his scholarly passions.

Strengths and talents: He’s very scholarly and bright. He’s also very diverse, allowing him to fit into most crowds. He’s also a very good sketcher even though he says otherwise, because he (ironically) learns a lot faster with visuals rather than reading off of text.

Weaknesses: He tends to let his anger get the best of him at times since he usually bottles up most of his anger (especially from the past). He also lets his intelligence get the best of him, making him seem cocky at times without meaning it. He’s also not much of a decent fighter and only knows some of the basics from reading books and war manuscripts.

Background:

Royce Andre was born to a family of Southernos who lived on the outskirts of Caliphate in the dwellings of a makeshift shack. Although his mother and father were very happy to have given birth to such a wonderful and healthy child, they weren’t able to support Royce financially. Even though they both had jobs, their jobs were very low paying and they only made enough to support themselves. One rainy night, they set off to the outskirts of Felsen to do only what was best for their son Royce. Royce’s biological parents abandoned him at the front doorstep of a small cozy cottage that belonged to a heartlander couple. Soon after, they disappeared into the night without a single farewell. Since the couple was never able to have fertile children, they took in Royce as their own child. Royce, was a name that was given by his mother, being the name that she’s always wanted to name her child if she ever had one. Andre (being the last names of his foster parents meaning brave and handsome in French) was a last name that was given by his father so Royce could feel like he was part of their family. Although Royce had a very iffy childhood being born almost completely blind,  having a more feminine side making him seem weak, having very mixed emotions about his foster parents, and not really fitting into the crowd due to his social awkwardness, he was able to make it through his childhood since he was really hopeful and determined for a kid his age. On top of facing his many personal hardships, a lot of kids his age and even some adults would constantly torment, harass, and even tease Royce because of his thick glasses, awkwardness, his feminine side, and especially his race. Despite his rough childhood, he was able to get through it all and excel above most kids his age; therefore, proving everyone who had tormented him wrong.  Royce was also schooled by his parents; his mother being a big alchemy and literature buff and his father being a major in philosophy and minoring in basic science. Alongside learning from his parents, he also spent most of his free time reading up on culture, religion, history, and his personal favorite being scholarly journals and writings. Soon after his 19th birthday, Royce decided to move out of Felsen and go off on his own to  join the Northern Research Guild to pursue his scholarly passions, to become more cultured and diverse, and to have a greater understanding of the world around him. On top of joining the Northern Research Guild, he also joined and left several other small guilds that focused on art, literature, philosophy, etc. Although things have been going great for him, the one thing that really tends to bring him back a lot is his bitter anger and hatred towards society as a whole, because of all the times that people have underestimated, tormented, and teased him.
