The Red Feast

The 15th of the Grand Harvest, 1556

From all over the Empire of Oren, and the Kingdom of Vandoria, lords ladies, veterans, knights and wealthy merchants came to the mighty halls of Ard Ghorrock to celebrate the era of peace they had worked so hard for. Men laughed loudly as women gossipped, a famous Courland bard even preformed for the entire crowd, gaining many tips, and a large applause from all of his incredible songs.

As the day turned to afternoon, a glorious melee was held. The men fought for hours, using skill, luck, and blood to determine who was to be named champion. It fell to Segei Kovachev to win the day, earning the King’s Purse for a fantastic conclusion, with Oscar Lancefeld being the other noteworthy combatant. As the tournament ended, men still brawled for sport, and the lords and ladies continued to mingle and drink greedily.

Then, swift as lightning, horror came. A meek voice “Your Imperial Majesty..” The heads nearby turned, and a man in rich clothing lunged through the crowd, leaping at the Emperor, who unclipped his axe. But the blade would never hit the Emperor. The King of Vandoria, John Godfrey, pushed himself forwards and onto the blade.

The youngest brother to the Emperor collapsed back, guards rushing forth, and Dreadlanders coming to battle. The hall ran red with blood, and thick with corpses. Some managed to escape, others fell where they stood, one moment laughing, the next gutted like a fish and picked clean of baubles and coin.

The halls of Ard Ghorrock would forever be stained, on the day known forever as the Day of the Red Feast.

A Dreadland Herald would spread a poster throughout the lands, a rough sketch depicting the Emperor with his brains spilled onto the floor of Ard Ghorrock "The False Emperor and his Royal Guards lay slain" would be printed upon it in larger letters

After escaping the brawl, a Steward and his compatriots went back to their home, wheezing from their running. The Steward would then speak to his lord "Ser Aymer, would you care to explain what happened back there?"

Upon seeing his body on the sketch

He says to himself

"We were not royal guards, we were merely citizens and children of god. And we would give the same over again if called upon to do so."

Returns home grabbing new armor and weapons as well as stoneskin and Alchemists fire

"Rebel scum. Here I come!"

The Nomad uruk Worg'Azog stands over his kills. He spots a armoured figure clenching his abdomen, where once there had been shining plate, was now replaced by a large impactful dent, shattering bone and rupturing organs. He bent over picking the crumpled man by the armored collar, and stalked over to the balcony edge. He lifted said man in the air, grasping his throat like that of a hawk and it's prey. With a dark grin, he let the dying man fall from the balcony, landing with a resounding 'crunch' of bone and stone.

"BLOOD FOR AZOG! BLOOD OB THA BLAYK ZKIN!" Worg announced to his fellow compatriots who still rummaged through the bodies, along with the cowering nobility who fled for their life.
