To Solve The Schism
By Sohaer Kelthran Iyathir & The Silver Council of Haelun'or

It is with great regret that The Silver State of Haelun’or, in an effort to ensure the continued unity and purity of our race, has instead found conflict in Celein. The Vigil, led by Arche Raell, upon hearing that the usurper Laethis Izalith had abandoned his people in fear of threats posed by Xion and the Orcish hordes; sought peaceful negotiations with acting Heirarch Orsino Acal’elor and Maven Crumena Izalith. They were promised voices in our government, positions in our council, shelter, security, and a reform of the title system present in Asulonian Haleun’or. When peace seemed within our grasp, the usurper returned; and in his stubbornness, disbanded his council - leaving himself sole dictator of Celein. Then, in a craven attempt to gain mercy from a Dominion that beset his Island from all sides, the usurper composed a letter to his majesty King Tristin Tresery damning our negotiations and calling for the blood of those who dared try and reason with Haelun’or.

King Tresery,

I have recently been informed of attempts by the Haelun'or Vigil to create a treaty between my acting Hierarch, Prince Orsino Acal'elor, my son the Maven, Crumena Izalith, and their leader to join Celein with Haelun'or as an outpost, offering Orsino and Crumena positions in their government.

I would like to make it exceedingly clear that as acting Hierarch, the authority Orsino holds is limited, and does not include the conducting of foreign affairs or the creation of treaties without my approval. As such, if this treaty is indeed signed and pushed forth by Prince Orsino, that he has committed treason against the City-State of Celein, and should be turned over to the government of Celein as soon as possible if he is found in elven lands, as is stated within our treaty regarding extradition.

Furthermore, though I know you are not directly responsible for this, I do find it rather inappropriate that a party representing a vassal of the Dominion would try and go around the back of its allied leader in political dealings. This seems contradictory to the terms set in unifying the Dominion, as well as the treatment one ally should afford another.

If you wish to discuss this further, I will gladly meet with you. I am simply rather frustrated by this occurrence, though I hope this does not seem directed at you in my letter. It would take far more to forget the friendship we've long shared.

Regards,

Hierarch Laethis Izalith

The Silver Council tried, nonetheless, to speak to the false Maheral Laethis Izalith; but found no progress could be made. The delegation was met with smirks at crossbow point, rather than the respect and courtesy they had come to expect during Orsino’s reign. Reason and diplomacy were discarded as the usurper told us there would be no negotiations between our two states; and that the colony of Celein would never rejoin its mother country, no matter what terms were laid bare, unless he was crowned Maheral.

In a fashion befitting only an Izalith, he betrayed his own citizenry in his all encompassing lust for power.

It is this Elf that Haelun’or may no longer abide, and the Schism which began when he decided that his Frost-Witch-Sex-Toy was more valuable than the nation which forged him. He and his mentally-corrupted people set out across the world in their search of power and depravity, forging a state in direct violation of the Blessed Laws of Haelun’or. The Unity of the High elves defiled, the Unity of Malin shattered.

The mali’aheral of Haelun’or shall no longer tolerate the presence of divisive elements who threaten the Peace and Purity of Larihei. This broken trinket of Silver shall be melted and forged anew*.

It is out of the kindness of Sohaer Kelthran Iyathir that the Silver State of Haelun’or offers one final reprieve from the fate of a city burnt to the ground. It is you who may return to the arms of the Mother, without judgement, to find succor in Blessed Haelun’or and end your fate in the river of Tainted Silver Blood which is to come.

It is this kindness that guarantees, in spite of the demands of The Silver Council, the Government of Celein is offered two Elven days to either accept the treaty as it standed on the eve of unification — before the vile acts of Izalith did destroy negotiations or propose reasonable terms for gradual reunification which culminate in full integration no later than two Elven weeks from this day. Refusal will be met with cleansing.

The Unification of Silver

As decided upon by Tilurir'tir Arche Raell, Acting Hierarch Orsino Acal'elor, Maven Crumena Izalith

1) The mali’aheral, united in cause and purpose renounce the Second Schism of Haelun’or; neither affording patience to the quarrels of Ellir’siol and Nelecar, nor the quarrels of Izalith and Elibar’acal— as have so plagued our kind.

2) The Citizenry of Haelun’or and Citizenry of Celein shall be unified under  the banner of the Silver State of Haelun’or once more, ending the 20 year long Second Schism of Haelun’or.

3) The Citizenry of Haelun’or and Citizenry of Celein shall have all crimes mutually forgiven.

4) Laethis Izalith shall be afforded the Path of Purity, and allowed to redeem himself— impeccable record tainted, but return to his kind

5) A system of non-hereditary merit-based peerage, as seen in the city of Haelun’or in Asulon, shall be re-established.

6) Orsino Acal’elor shall be afforded the position of Tilruir’lliran within Haelun’or.

7) Crumena Izailth shall be afforded the position of Tilruir’tayna within Haelun’or.

8) The City of Celein shall be transformed into an outpost of Haelun’or, akin to that of Cerun in the days of Ceru in Asulon— only garrisoned by a small number of elves in times outside of war.

"Is Kelthran stalking me?"

Velulaei having been the only crossbow armed Mali'aheral within that building frowns. As they seem to mistake her guarding the door to the room full of vigil members, as an attack on them?

A Short letter is sent to the Sohaer personally

"I am all for resolving the conflict that has emerged and I appreciate you looking out for my own personal safety. But either way Sohaer, war will not solve it, it will make it worse. The Mali'aheral that would escape the fires of your Vigils 'Cleansing' would be repulsed by your administration, they would scatter to the winds, divided more than ever before. If you want to solve the Schism, you must stop threatening conflict, I say this for the sake of Haelun'or and those in Celein as it is for the best if we actually engage in diplomacy, respecting one another. Your propaganda machine is contradictory, at first it is only Laethis Izalith who is impure, then it is all of Celein, you ask that the 'aheral of Celein join Haelun'or then you say you wish to purge them all. Take a proper stance and keep your Vigil under control. I ask that we settle this with words, not with war as the latter will only worsen the situation that you call the schism."

"What I do not understand is the why of the situation. As in--why do we want these individuals returned to us? They scurried away like rats to wallow in their collective depravity far away, touting whatever purpose required to justify their actions. These are individuals who sought to remove themselves from the Maehr'sae hiylun'ehya in order to release themselves from their duty to our people. This bizarre action will not strengthen this city, but sully it with weak-willed, and craven citizens. Ones that pay only lip service to our Way, and whisper lies in the dark. Regardless, you are not able to force Truth on the unwilling. They will only resent it, and push it further away.

But the rats fled the silo. So why now do we invite them back in?"
