Telanir 6975 Share Posted June 10, 2016 Hey folks, Quick & dirty info: Server will be hopefully down for no more than 5 minutes, if something goes terribly wrong it may be down for up to an hour. Watch out for this Sunday at 2am EST. Generally Obelisk updates don't require explicit downtime, but recently I've undertaken a very extensive project that focuses closely on security and performance within the framework. As you know we are migrating to Obelisk from Nexus-Core this year piece by piece, and I am starting to get to crucial content such as Nexus-Craft that is being replaced with the new and shiny Workshop (not yet ready for feedback & beta-testing dates not yet picked). Before such work begins I needed to make sure our new content overlord was suitable for the task and stuffed it with features regarding uptime, speed, and security. For those who care to read, Obelisk now has numerous redundancies for core libraries that prevent it from corrupting player data, as we migrate over the next year to this new macroplugin we hope you will experience a notable improvement in both server performance and your overall experience. (Disclaimer: I said over the next year which means immediate changes are likely not easily discernible).
