Are you tired of seeing the same old cobblestone cities and buildings every map?

Why not try splashing out?

Lets get those High fantasy creative juices flowing for next map Nation Builders!

Feel free to post more pictures below to build up an album of things you'd like to see adapted to LOTC.

That second image looks amazing. Very cool stuff!

I think that aesthetics are one of the many important facets that contribute to the staying power of a city. I'd actually argue that the city's interior is much more important than its exterior. If a settlement looks great from outside of the walls, that will certainly peak my interest. But it's what a city looks like on the inside, it's marketplace and housing and streets, that will keep me invested in role playing there. So if anyone has pictures of those things, post them too!

Yeah well if magic was a thing that was widely available then yeah perhaps. Human culture isn't didneyland nor is it high fantasy. That's elves mostly and elves already have decent builds?

LOTC has talking magical sentient Dragon creatures that are the size of cities yet shapeshift into regular sized people at will.

Of course the setting is low fantasy... /sarcasm

As nice as these are, they're not good for RP. Massive beautiful builds tend to spread out RP in such a way that it's difficult to find people within the town and in the event that players do come across one another, they're either AFKing in their home or sitting in a tavern.

I'm so ******* triggered right now. This is so ******* cringy.

I will literally raise an army under the MessyMedieval banner if anything like that comes up on the next map. I despise people who build big ass **** things that most of the times don't end up looking that good. By the way most of those builds are made by large teams of builders with a lot of experience, like the Dreadfort(second pic) by Westeroscraft. I love to build MM but I also love the style they have in westeroscraft. However their big scale is often way too big for lotc. Some places are cool like the Dreadfort could fit in, but mayor places like King's landing is 10 times the size of our Felsen.

Lotc isn't some ******* Disney world alright. If I say anything as dumb as the 1st, 3rd, 4th, 6th and 7th pics I'd just raise an army to **** with them. Lotc doesn't have the builders for things like that. This thread ruined my day, it would be a nightmare. Don't you ever get bored of your magic bullshit? You've been doing it since the beginning! I agree it would be cool to have a map with super amazing builds of large scale, BUT IT WOULD SUCK on lotc and it wouldn't make any sense to random ass giant princess castles and flying fortresses everywhere because it's "pretty".

By the way, the last building could be compared to something people used to build in Aegis. We're past that by the way.

If you think people in aegis built like the last picture I don't think you quite remember what aegis was actually like.

Also just because you like a certain build style doesn't mean every other build style is crap. That's just being narrow minded. Also these kind of builds can be incorporated if done in a smart manner.

Also lotc has been stuck in its broody edgy grim dark fantasy period for far too long now. It's really starting to show that a lot of people want to become more light hearted despite what's going on in the world quite often from what I've seen. Personally I think dark broody grim fantasy has been done. It's over rated and long outstayed it's welcome. It's impact came from being new and different, shocking people with the idea that not all fairy tales were these happy go lucky day affairs. But in media today now that broody Dark edgy crap has become the standard norm now. It's just getting a tad bit boring.

You're entitled to your opinion but this post ain't getting no trigger warnings son.

I was joking because its ugly.

But in lotc we dont have enough good builders who could make "smart" builds in styles like that. And where are you even getting this dark bloody grim building? wtf are you even talking about dude. Maybe the darkevles have something dark but I honestly don't know what the **** you're talking about. High elves have what they always have, that's fine. Felsen is based on byzantine(which I personally didn't like but it's what Maly wanted. But how anything dark or edgy? Wood elves have their forests, we have our medieval builds because we prefer it that way. If you actually had the people to build and fill things like that go ahead. But I think your floating tower and high elven cities are enough. But I honestly don't understand what the **** you're talking about when you say "dark edgy crap". Event builds might be but they should be since most of them are housed by evil characters. But still there is very little dark and edgy places.

The reason there isn't much of the High fantasy CRAP isn't because some dark crap "standard" it's because few people prefer your high fantasy crap. It's the fact that you're trying to tell everyone they should build your high fantasy ****, but everyone isn't a mage or a 100000 yrs old wizard. The majority doesn't get involved with those things other than in events.

I would like to see a few structures like the ones you showed in he pictures, however, it still needs to be balanced out, if all of the races had only these kind of builds,  they wouldn't appear as 'special'.

I feel we should have no more then one or two of these epic structures like this, belonging to no specific race, otherwise it would feel overdone (and would take extremely long to build).

People will build what they want and what they feel is the environment they want to RP in. It's up to them if they want to follow this suggestion or not, but I would say the majority major cities are well built.

It doesn't make sense to build anything to that scale. Why so big?
