The Arcane Gift,

A scar in which is embedded in all descendants with true potential. Willpower is the key to unlock this potential, and with it comes the plethora of power that is embedded within us. This power is not one to surpass GOD and does not surpass the powers of those who serve him, the arcane gift is simply one of true potential simple, as man may tap into with the true potential of a skill that comes with practicing with a blade or hammer.

This true potential,

It is one that comes with a lifestyle embedded in so many lives, From the Mage to the Sorcerer and Wizard ways we find ourselves so drastically distant from those who do not have such an arcane gift, yet we are truly indifferent. We are simply those who take up book and wand, rather than a sword and hammer.

This lifestyle,

It is one not of chains and oath, loyalty to serve, It is one in which the arcane gift allows us to fully embrace our art in which we paint upon the canvas that this gift allows us to access. We implement it into our very lives as not by choice, but because it is the path we chose to follow and with such as any man should we take responsibility for his choices. The arcane gift will make man weak, for the laws of equivalent exchange dictates that for one, you must give another. For our potential, we give our potential to do these other crafts and skills away, our strength.

But as always there are the lost,

Those who throw away their potential and arcane gift to use it for naught the discovery of knowledge or the power and potential of a faction or nation but simply to hurt. This blindfold of power engulfs the mage in ways that many might follow without magic, and use their power to hurt with incoherent and distorted reasons, or to torture for fun. We dub these of our kin ‘Rogue Magi’, ones who refuse the lifestyle of the arcane and embrace one known for cruel and personal gain. They are naught lost as hope may be brought to them, but in the end of they refuse such it is our duty together to amend this, and ensure the safety of not only other magi by the viewpoint of those without the arcane gift, but the safety of our ways and how all who gaze upon it see it.

In the end,

We all have different reasons from among our selves on why we choose to embrace our arcane gift. Some do such for power, in their minds linger the thought that perhaps a potential fireball holds high ground over the pull of a bow or swing of a blade. Some do such for knowledge, they delve into the unknown to bring the known back to descendants, allowing us to embrace a new found knowledge that we had once lost. Some of us were born into it, our parents embedded into the ways of the arcane for their own reason we grow up to look upon the arcane as something we must do, to follow in the steps of our parents as if one may become a knight like their father, or a smith. In the end, this is our life and we embrace this with passion regardless of why we took this path.

"Interesting, I feel like this is an attempt to have something akin to what Ambros' college wrote." Elrid murmurs, upon discovering this text from within the Convocation.

Caliana silently scans the sheet of parchment she found resting on the couch before the fireplace within the Convocation's keep. She grunts as she settles into her seat, eyes still taking in the contents of the document. After a short while the young elfess simply rolls her eyes and tosses the article aside, onto the empty cushion next to her.

"This was written in such a way not to share a thought or idea, but to emphasize that the one who pens it has some deep understanding of the arcane and some sort of outstanding stance on the topic," the mage-to-be murmurs as she tosses her legs up on the couch and tugs out a book from her satchel. "I'd bet ten mina Mister Zytiaear enjoys the sound of his own voice." She pauses a moment to crack open the tome. "All he did was take a common thought and spout it in a flamboyant fashion for the attention and praise it would give."

Her gaze scans the collection of people around her, all chiming about the Convocation and simply gives a singular nod to them in agreement.

Nemir lightly tapped her thumb against her chin upon reading the document. She nodded briefly here and there as her eyes skimmed over the written words.  Eventually, she sat it onto her desk, her hand slipping down to gently pet the head of a furry dog with floppy, pointed ears.

"An interesting read," she said down  to her dog.  No one else was in the room.  Nemir then rose herself up from her wooden chair which emitted a light creak.  "Now let's go teach you how to steal Coltaine's leg."

Sensing the greasy mutant stench of Gareth in disguise, Coltaine would mutter "That kiddo cant even keep me down."

"Really gets the noggin joggin'." comments Gareth Hawthorne, gaze askew, forever disguised.

A squire questions, thoughtfully rubbing his knuckles against his chin against they were bloodied stubs.
