Feedback on the Administration

Fix the rules.

Currently the Rules link up on the fancy browsing banner leads to rule pages that have been tossed into an "Outdated Rules" category. Considering that nice big button is the easiest way for players to find the rules it'd be nice if that actually linked to the current ones.

There's also the fact that the most recent list of rules, once you track them down, mention nothing about the killing of animals. No mention of livestock in pens. No mention of horses. I know because I opened all the spoilers, pulled up the find command, and typed in every word I thought might possibly lead me to such rules. No mentioning of animal(s), livestock, and the only mentioning of horses is about how high they can jump.

And I've personally seen a newer player get banned for not knowing he couldn't kill horses. A rule that exists which he had no way of knowing about because the rule page doesn't mention it. He posted an appeal on Saturday which still hasn't received a response even with my personal pointing out the error in the rules and my own wish for him to be unbanned or receive a lesser punishment.

Considering its admins who make the rule posts I'm obviously gonna hold admins responsible for this misunderstanding.

You're 100% right here. It's not the Administrators to handle these, it is the collective GM Team who then just get Administrative approval, however as the GM Lead I can tell you this is something we want updated. For some reason a bunch of rules were lost in the rewrite, and we want to go through the entire page and, rule by rule, iron everything out and ensure all gaps are filled. We are also considering making a forum in feedback for "Rule Suggestions", which would allow players to look and suggest new rules, alterations or removals to rules etc, and we would submit new rule amendments there for a week for players to give feedback on before implementation or denial. How does this sound?

I think almost all of the "BIAS!11!" posts are posted by very biased players that cannot understand any perspective but their own.

Sounds good but that doesn't help jumperhand3 considering he's been punished and is still banned for something he couldn't have known about.

Had linked his appeal in the hopes that someone would respond to him if he hasn't given up completely on the server by now.

Otherwise though yes, is a good idea and would be nice to see such a system tried out.

Ive been on both sides of this debate and I think that Esterlen had some very good points. Since I started playing in 2011 ive been good friends with maybe 6-7 admins total since before they reached that position. Every. Single. One was biased and corrupt in one way or another.

Saying that these are any different is ridiculous.

Something recently about the administration that bugs me is the incident with 6xdestroyer yesterday.

501, after being lied to about a previous session of rp, banned 6x almost immediately without hearing his side of the story and later when we tried to convince him he was wrong he stood very persistent about it, only changing his decision when we found the evidence to show it was an unjust ban. Though it was resolved I feel the team needs to be mindful of this. I also understand it's a stressful job but that's no excuse for that sort of management.

you snaked dpm and ganghass for power, dont pretend you dont know whats going on bruv

Please take this in to PM's if you have nothing relevant to say about me. Also you havent even heard my side so dont go just listening to one person and not listening to the other. I havent talked to you since I seperated from DPM or Gangass so dont act so tough as a know it all. Since you dont know anything in the first place.

There is the ups and downs of the Admins. For one, some actually help and do their job. Others have to be shady and bias. Their excuse is that they have either programmed something into the server so they should be feared and so on, or that they have been with the server since the dawn of time so they should be feared and so on. In the long run, Admins are not being treated like humans. If anything, they are put on a pedestal to be worshiped or feared. At least this is how I feel that the community is since I have joined always whispering, 'Oh don't do this because of so and so...' But I am not the type of person to bend the knee. You know who you are for the beginning part of this statement.

This thread disappoints me.

LoTC is a business, a business can and will be operated as any business would, by the team that runs it.

Decisions come and go all the time, it's up to the team to decide which is a beneficial decision.

Only thing I can agree with is that it's hard for a new player to get to 'know' people within the community and that's it.

The tech team are **** admins, who have no admin sense. They are admins purely because they can code. Like making a janitor the CEO of a company purely because they can clean.

Lmao mfw when people don't understand how businesses are ran.

Same could be said about GM's, but we all know that that would severly restrict the person's roleplay. Everyone has a tie to some nation, after all, they have to live somewhere irply.

Far be it from the gms to actually be non-partisan. Admin team just needs to do something right for a change.  Can anyone remember the last time the admin team made a needed change that actually fixed the problem and didn't make it worse?

So only one perspective is right?  Isn't your statement here very biased?  I'm seeing a double standard.  As long as people agree with you, they are fine. But if someone disagrees, they are biased?

We don't expect or want people to treat us like their parents. I am fully aware that previous iterations of Staff, and Administration have been untrustworthy. I/We in no way demand your trust, that isn't fair of us. We're not asking for that. We want to earn that trust back, and while it's difficult to do so, we're trying. I'd personally like to be given the benefit of the doubt, but that's not something I'm going to ask for or expect. We have to pay for the sins of our fathers, in the metaphorical sense, and hopefully in time this mentality will change.

Ok fair enough. I haven't played in two years so I don't know much about you or the current team as a whole. Past experience leads me to expect you're probably all corrupt in some form, and I'm quite sure that's the case. However, you can't really avoid that since none of you are professionals. I'm curious about the situation with 501. You want to regain trust, but then you bump back a dude into the team with a feeble excuse of him 'working behind the scenes' to earn it.

Unless you provide tangible proof that he actually did work behind the scenes, that's 100% bs and classic Lotc staff bullshittery. I was staff, I knew a lot of people who were staff and when stuff like that was said it basically meant absolutely nothing.
