“Ever has it been that love knows not its own depth until the hour of separation.”

Olenna Ireheart  sat in the Grand King's Palace,  the small chamber they had relocated her to dark and cold. Her infant son lay, crying, in his crib. She stared at the wall, despite the beardling's tears, her mind blank and her heart heavy. The death of her husband, Algoda, had taken a toll on her. It had worsened the illness she had acquired after the birth, and she knew that it would soon claim her. The former Queen had taken to brooding alone, or with her son present, and thinking about how she had taken everything she had in life for granted. Her loving husband, her status, her clan. Her pride has cost her all of that, and now all she had was her memories.

"My sweet king," She'd whimper, allowing herself to lay back onto the stiff bed, "Our son...he will do us proud." Her breath was heavy and shaky, her eyes slowly closing.

Her final thought was of him, her husband, her king. His scruffy beard, he piercing eyes, and his smile. His smile most of all. That gave her comfort as her last breath escaped her, her lungs and heart giving way as she entered the realm of her ancestors.

A fellow Ireheart would discover the cold body of their queen, sending for his kin to collect her. He'd then take the babe from it's crib, intent on bringing it back to it's rightful family.

OOC:

Spoiler

I will miss her, but I think it was time for her to go. Her husband was gone, and it really hit her (and me) pretty hard. I hope, for those who met her, enjoyed her and will remember her in the future.

Dwalhad's stoic face doesn't turn away as they take her body from the Royal residence. Already battered with the grief of the dead king, he has become numb to the trauma of another dead. One thing remains steadfast, one thing floods the mind of the dewd. He repeats it faintly on his lips.

"This changes nothing."

Brathal Macdunn whistled in a cheerful manner upon departing from his shop in the dwarven capital. Wandering its empty streets the Adunian catches wind of the recent and significant loss. " Though I've nae known her in me life. She'll be missed. Travel far 'nd high, me queen " He salutes to the air as his gaze rises towards the rocky sky that hangs above the city, faintly smiling.

Crashing and banging can be heard within the walls of the Yemekar's workforce as Kalviin erupts upon hearing the news, tearing anything in sight to shreds in a fit of angry sadness that continued for an hour, yelling and smashing he eventually collapsed onto the floor panting for air and gritting his teeth as he clenched his fists tightly and snarled under his breath "This... changes nothing".

Toran's hand lightly rests upon his chest, silently grieving as the body is carried away. A single, lonely tear rolling down his pale cheek, he'd whisper to himself while staring at the white blanket covering the body. "This changes nothing."

Aldal Ireheart steadies himself against a nearby beam upon hearing the news, his brow furrowing and an expression of sheer sorrow painting his features.

"Deh noicest dwed ah've met en a verreh, verreh long toime. After Algoda... Deh poor babeh."

He takes off in the direction of the Clan Hall, intent on providing comfort to his kin in these sad times.
