The circlejerk effect is caused because new players get siphoned into massive RP hubs, and players aren't forced to interact with eachother outside of the hubs. When they get destroyed, there is a brief period where people spread out, but eventually larger communities will grow. I think that when RP becomes smaller and more communal, it gets better; it's easier to RP in a village with your friends than it is in a giant city full of people shouting and starting PvP fights. With a bunch of autonomous communities that live or die based on activity, there's an incentive to promote RP that doesn't exist when you have a fiefdom guaranteed by the powers that be.

You should know this better than anyone, wolfkite. (nu)Pravets would not have existed had Dunamis not disbanded and Al'Wakrah not blown up.

This post was ******* painful to read. Let things happen naturally and don't seek out staff protection.

This post reminds me of all those people saying, "We're killing Earth!"
We are not killing Earth. It will go on for a very long time, we're wiping ourselves from the face of the earth.

(I.E. We aren't killing RP, we're killing Oren. RP will continue.)

You're acting like LoTC needs Oren, when the server did fine without it. In Aegis and Asulon (parts of prior to Oren), the RP was great and wasn't at all dramatically improved by The Orenian Empire's creation. In fact, I recall many Aegis players saying that the server had way more people on back in those times, without an all powerful Oren. This may have been for other reasons, but it shows that Oren isn't crucial to LoTC's survival.

I loved it back then, more ooc circle jerking than now. But if you could avoid it, the server was otherwise all around better.
