Tsuyose 3285 Share Posted April 28, 2017 Kingdom of Mardon “I kneel to no man but God.” Peter Sigismund, reciting the words of the infamous Jon Renault. Rampant with history from deceit, bloodshed, and treachery, to honour, freedom, and independence, was once the homeland to the deceitful men of Ashford. However, come their rebellion against The Holy Oren Empire during the reign of Philip Frederick of House Horen, they were ousted from the Blackmarsh, and discarded entirely; their namesake but a plague upon the historics of House Horen. It was once sworn beneath the Kingdom of Courland by its regent, Philip Louis, who coveted the young second son of the late Emperor. Upon the death of the late regent of Mardon at the hands of Charles Grey, - the late regent during the uprise of Peter Sigismund, - and fought valiantly for its freedom, Mardon’s legitimate heir usurped the ducal lands, Peter Sigismund, second son to Philip Frederick, and later engaged in bloody warfare against the Kingdom of Courland renown as the ‘Free Fight’, with the aid of the Haensemen after their unfortunate defeat, Peter Sigismund eventually concluded the war by signing a peace treaty with the Staunton King. It promptly became apparent that Ashford - de Savoie included - of Lorraine were the puppeteers of this war, with the Kingdom of Lorraine-Savoy lacking manpower, and the Independent Duchy of Mardon having surpassed the unfathomable, the duo engaged in their own treaty. Henceforth, Peter Sigismund became a recluse for a short period of time in his aspiration to build a political framework for his ducal lands, and furthermore proceeded to create the valiant Mardonic Kingdom. - Reigning King His Royal Majesty, Peter Sigismund of House Horen, Forever August, King of Mardon, Duke of Blackmarsh, Marna, Count of Cascadia, Lorath, Baron of Darkwood, Coust, Casca, Vineland, and Protector of the Heartlands. Lord Marshal, Adrian Caedmon The Lord Marshal is one of the most respectable positions within the militia fold of Mardon, achieving this rank means you answer to none but one, His Majesty of Mardon, and you are charged with the upkeep of the Mardonic militia. The sword and shield of Mardon’s survival in times of warfare, failure to appropriate oneself to this role, is a failure to Mardon. He holds all righteous command over the military, adhering to none but His Majesty of Mardon. To the East lies the Kingdom of Lotharingia, the realm of House d'Amaury, a natiom of mostly Kaedreni heritage and customs with a blend of Savoyard culture. The Knights of Pruvia oft times ride into Lorraine to assist their Canonist brothers against unnatural threats, ready to defend their fellow man to the end. In addition to being a predominant part of the Kingdom of Mardon, the Prince of Pruvia is often styled as the “Shield of Mardon” due to the defensive nature of the Principality. This title is held with pride by the House of Horen-Preussen, who see it as a mark of recognition for their efforts against foreign threat. The Capital of Pruvia is a daunting keep by the name of “Eastwatch” and is located along the eastern mountain range which serve as a natural border between Lotharingia and Mardon. Baron James Norrington of House Norrington Situated in the Mountains above Lorath, Warwick stands as a fort near the entrance to the plain lands. Surrounded by lush fields and flourishing forests, Warwick serves as both a stronghold in wartimes and a leisure area during peace. Adorned with banners of House Horen and Norrington, as well as the vibrant colors of each, Warwick adorns a vastly secluded mountain range, and serves as a place to rest the night or combat forces of evil alike. Upon entering the gates of the Keep, the sounds of clashing iron and steels can be heard from the forge, as well as young men training in the yards. To the west of the gate, the Main Hall, where generals meet and discuss plans of war. Deeper into the keep, you can find a tunnel leading to the center of the mountain range, a clear, open area, filled with farms of vegetables, and a small vineyard. The sweet aroma of the grapes drying in summer make Warwick seem a bit like a place apart from the war torn earth surrounding it, although it is very close to the areas of conflict. Cracker 4570 Share Posted April 28, 2017 https://gyazo.com/ae3cbc0cef7e5351a43611271f51fb47 The Duke Hunoald stirs from his chambers to the tune of unsightly flatulence. Nearing the age of eighty-four, his countenance reflects that of a spotted sow past her prime, mired with white warts and lesser fungi. The Duke, in effort to conceal these deformities, took upon himself to grow a beard in Theodosian fashion, but alas, just as his balding brow, his withered cheeks find themselves half-naked, the hair misshapen and misgrown. With a deep and inappropriate moan, he emerges to his study where he is greeted by none other than his lord steward, the genteel esquire William Pig. "Greetings to you, my Duke. We've enjoyed splendid weather of seventy radians. Oh, tally-hoo! Have you heard of the Kingdom of Mardon?" "Ah the Kingdom of Mardon!" Hunoald replied, with a cheery gusto unfit his typical mannerism. "Shall I fetch you the miller's daughter, sire?" inquired Mr. Pig "Yes. Wash her and bring her to my bedstead. That will be all for the day." said the Duke. From thenceforth the Duke spent a great deal of time with the miller's daughter, from dawn till dusk, enjoying her company. However, by the next day, Hunoald soon fancied himself a Mardonese wencher at his disposable. It was up to Pig to supply.
