CaptainBrock 254 Share Posted May 16, 2017 A Response to Aggression A missive is delivered to the realms of humanity, bearing upon its seal the sigil of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan. To the good Sons of Horen, It has reached our ears that much hearsay has been spread of our undertakings in the human realms. Ergo, we, the Sons of Urguan, wish to clarify our stance upon the contemporary state of affairs, in the pursuit of bringing an end to whatever preconceived and utterly fallacious rumours have been set abound. It is first our desire to state that we care not for the petty inter-conflicting wranglings of humans, providing humanity refrains from its historic incursions upon the realms of other non-human entities. The Horenite Empire was guilty of bringing war and subjugation upon others and thus it became imperative that it was halted in its unrighteous conquest. Only twenty years ago, at the Battle of the Red Pass, their armies were halted, and again at the Battle of Goldfield, the imperium of man fell with a whimper of cowardice, the mad Emperor sooner to engulf his city in flame than to stand and fight for what he believed. It is not our desire to see humanity consigned to the fires of war, over what began as a petty lord’s rebellion. However, without attempt at discourse or diplomacy, accusations have since been cast, sowing the seeds of what has become nothing less than an anti-dwarven movement within the human kingdoms. A flagrant attempt to besmirch our kind and of all those like us, all in the thinly veiled attempt of achieving some kind of vain consolation at the shame born of the empire’s fall. We have no interest in entering a war of attrition, or shedding blood when blood need not be shed. Alas, an oath was made before the ever watching eyes of the Allfather, Yemekar, when we signed the ‘Treaty of Aleksandria, 1604,’ and for which, we are obeyed to act. Without honour, there is only chaos, the very act of which bears semblance of the Arch-Daemon, Khorvad. We are obligated to uphold our oaths, lest we be worth less than the dirt beneath our feet. If others do not share in these common ideals, then they mark themselves oathbreakers and shall be judged for their deeds, whether in this life or the next, by the gods’ righteous fury. Norland, a nation who broke its oath to Urguan in the Eighteen Years War, through their betrayal at Avar, proved its dishonour long ago. By their blades, dwarven blood was unrighteously spilled as they turned their favour to Emperor John I, in his unholy crusade upon our mountain halls, a grim stain on the honour in the annals of mankind. Alas again, amidst the bloody battles of the Coalition War, the northmen turned coat once more and reared their blades on their Orenian kinsmen when they knew the war was lost. If the Kingdom of Lotharingia so desires the Grand Kingdom of Urguan to stand aside, then it had only call upon the rebellious curs who unlawfully aided the Norlanders at the Krag, to fight against their former liege, alone and unaided by outside bands of bandits and brigands. Lay the allure of opportunism aside and uphold the oaths you made to your allies in the Kingdom of Courland of else we shall be forced to answer our ally’s call and act. - Oyvind Frostbeard, Lord Regent of the Grand Kingdom of Urguan

"Hypocrisy." 0 If the Grand King where awake from his coma he would note that the reason he asked for so much mina was because of the size of the land stolen from the Dwarves by Norland, or they could've surrendered the Krag instead as he also asked. Would also note that at the time of the denial of an honour duel, why would the Grand King risk the entire war on a single duel, when at the time the dwarves had come off of 2 straight victories and did not want to jeopardize all the effort already put into it, whilst the siege's did not go to plan, at the time it was far more smart to try and siege the Krag then risk an honour duel. However at the end of said meeting where these terms where discussed, the Grand King suggested an honour duel to the death with the High King, in which he denied, although this duel had nothing to do with the outcome of the war. He would think this dwarf should learn the full story before saying such things. 0 Aldal Ireheart never denied this? Having spent four stone years in the realm, this was common sense. sergisala 3451 Share Posted May 16, 2017 "@CaptainBrock is a very wise dwarf" Alexander would comment. "It's called defensive agreement, the dwarves also have it with the orcs." he'd say "In Courland, we respect our agreements with the other nations and we don't discriminate people such as the dwarves for not being humans, unlike others..." he'd then sigh as he remembered the racism that House Ruthern had publicly shown against dwarves. "If the land of The Grand Kingdom of Urguan had internal rebellions we would also help them defeat their rebels." he'd conclude.

Do you realize if you accepted this you would of saved thousands of your dweds lives if you didn't press the war to continue by forcing to them to pay 100,000 minas?. All I can say to you 'Grand King' Bastion Ireheart is to remember the Krag, and remember those who died for you their King who did not fight for them."
