How to Apply to LotC - A New Player Video Guide

Recommended Posts

As you can tell from the title, this is a video guide for newer, aspiring players that wish to play on Lord of the Craft who may not understand how to apply at first. Regardless, this video is for anyone to view. I did add a caption track that I typed out, in case we are to ever have any deaf members of our community. I really hope that you enjoy this step-by-step tutorial. Happy RP'ing!

(@ 4:15 there is an example of what an application should look like if you don't want to watch the entire video.)

this ought to be stickied in new players guide! Or even on application page.

It's a pretty long video. You speak really slow and add a lot in, so you could try and form a script and get that time down to 8-10 minutes. I can see a lot of new players clicking this, seeing it's length, and exiting out shortly after.

Hey, thanks for the feedback! I'm going to chop it into parts and place the timings of certain things on the post so they can just skim around. The reason I speak slowly is because I didn't write a script for this, and usually go off on tangents and speak really fast. I wasn't trying to get ahead of myself for the sake of clearance!

Look I like the video and I agree 100% that we need something quick and easy for new players to watch but....14+ minutes of what seems like randomness makes for tough watching. Maybe cut it up into chapters in your video. Get a script and stick to the point. Introduction to LotC and what it is, how to make an account, how to apply and the application process, links to the wiki and/or lore for races, etc etc. Make a audio book out of it and make chapters at the start that you can click so the player can go where he needs to and quickly get the information required. Otherwise it's fine. Just my personal opinion. Take it with a grain of salt.

Moved to The Great Library. It shall be sorted into the appropriate category shortly.
