Greetings, noble lord of the realm, from the Prior of Cadlew. I hope this letter finds you in good health, and may GOD’s wisdom ever guide your path.

 

We monks of the great Saint Tobias have become increasingly concerned by the discord that has been sown among former allies recently, and have witnessed first hand the chaos that has descended upon Cyrilsburg. At the behest of the noble and concerned people of the Eisch valley, we have decided to offer host to a diplomatic council on the holy neutral grounds of our monastery, Cadlew Priory, in three months time. It is our wish that matters such as the legitimacy of Princess Linette Devereux’s ascension, the banishment of Sylvestre Halcourt, the disownment of Emelie Frederika Rubens, the flight of Leila Rubens, the question of Esme Teresa’s necroticism, and other such matters be discussed at this council and hopefully resolved, so that the use of arms may be avoided. Peace and stability in the region depend on the cooperation and good will between the noble rulers of the land, and we monks offer prayer to almighty GOD that we may find reconciliation and a solution to our current ills.

 

We request that all attendees be accompanied by no more than three retainers.

To his unequaled majesty, King Aurelius I Horen of Renatus-Marna, blessings upon you and your house. May Godfrey's heirs be protected for all eternity. You, or a representative of your choice, are hereby invited to the meeting at Cadlew Priory in two months time to assist in mediating the dispute between the Curonian loyalists, rebels, exiles, and your vassals. As much as we monks believe in the ultimate power of GOD, we realize that a worthy and just king has greater authority to rule on such temporal issues of the day. You, or your representative, are permitted as many retainers as you desire for your protection or otherwise on the monastic grounds.
