can i just point out this is not about one settlement, this is about the server as a whole.

If they're constantly being raided day after day, there's a reason for that.

but here's some ancient elven advice in case there's a raid going on

You've been here long enough to know that sometimes that reason is 'I hate the guy running that place, lets ruin his fun.'.

Also, I wonder how long it will take for that particular screenshot to stop being used, it's from someone who barely plays on the server anymore, and was taken incredibly out of context... But what can you do.

Maybe one day OOC tensions will return to being calm, and hatred will be kept between characters, instead of the disgusting way players push it onto eachother on an out of character level.

Literally eveything you said is subjective and up to the raider/defender. Instead of complaining on the forums, try and actually produce rp from raiding?

What, like trying to stop people from raiding?

Gating raid times to ‘peak hours’ shafts raiders on off-peak timezones, like Australians. Overcomplicating a casual system like raids to require a casus would only make raiders try harder, and I don’t trust staff members not to abuse the system to prevent themselves and their player groups from being raided.

Citing memery and toxicity is not a valid complaint when every single system and group on the server is guilty of it. If the problem is to be solved we need to patch the hole in the leaky boat not bucket out water every ten seconds.

That's an awfully good strawman you built there!

I advocate for raiders, I personally enjoy raiding, and I personally make role-play experiences out of raiding, so I don't understand how you took me saying 'man hopefully one day people will stop being c*nts to eachother oocly' as me saying that we should try to stop people from raiding. Not even the OP is saying we should stop people from raiding, just pointing out that there are flaws in it, flaws that are obvious to everyone on all sides.

i like that raiding is a part of lotc, but i'd simply wish for the current pvp goon mongoloids to honour the unwritten rule to not raid while nations hold some sort of meeting/event just for the sake of interrupting.

Algoda, the old days are gone... Instead, meetings and events are often the go-to dates for them to rush in.

Hey that's from the witchery mod.

Anyway, I'm sure players would enjoy themselves more if these targeted raids genuinely promoted roleplay. I'm not saying that all raids should only hold roleplay combat, or be slanted to the defender's advantage. What I'm saying is that raiding groups should learn to offer options to settlements: have them break vassal or face consequences, tribute, take in slaves instead of slaughtering everyone, ransom, etc etc. It's not difficult at all.

I thought it was Thurmcraft or how ever you spell it, I mean there is even Taint to the left man.

I fail to understand why you are shocked people raid during meetings and events. People raid meetings to disrupt them, it may affect their nation, you may be their enemy. Would it not only make sense to disrupt diplomacy meetings between your enemies or military meetings?

That is fair, but what about a Festival or a Ball? Something to be a time of peace?
