Blood Owed

Spoiler

A thundering crack of the anvil is sounded throughout the city of Morsgrad, like an eerie calling of war and battle, it’s metallic sound giving comfort to the newly equipped Nordish conscript. The streets are soon littered with the marching boots of an assembled force of spears and tall tower shields to compliment their height.

On the gold plains between New Reza and Guise a lone rider clad in full plate strides by with a banner in hand. He passes the bridge into the Haensetic border, dismounting from his horse to place the banner in clear sight from the city walls. The banner is a dark crimson shade of red, coated in the blood of the riders former enemies which only seeks to compliment the white skull centered on the cloth. He stands in regalia and laurel, a single spear taken from his horse and planted diagonally between the shaft of the banner marking an x.

Before mounting his horse and riding eastward he calls out to any listening guardsmen on the walls or in the gatehouse

“Godric is owed blood for the unlawful murder of his Assemblyman by the treacherous Marshal of Haense. He wishes to resolve the conflicts of mankind as men. Tomorrow he and his forces shall array themselves on the field and wait for you. Bring your forces and meet us there. Blood shall be paid and whatever the result the Blood Feud shall be settled. Otherwise you are to pay a weregild of ten thousand minas in payment for the unlawful murder of  the Assemblyman. ”

With that the dark rider would wheel his horse, galloping away into the inky blackness.

“Imagine being desperate enough in your hatred for a people you would try to get entire forces of men to kill eachother for the loss of one merchant of poor talent. Very nearly a coward.” says Librarian Wick

“Imagine bending over when one of your own are slaughtered, perhaps this is why nobody bats an eye when killing a haenseman for they know their own countrymen will do nothing about it” Alaric would say returning to his duties.

“Didn’t see a trial for the man Haense tortured earlier...” Marlow says casually, recalling Daniel.

“Perhaps if his ‘assembly men’ didn’t bandit Orenian roads he would still be alive, sad to see Haense took the bait.” said Farley

Argyle gets his spear, then begins to oil the fine blade. "My dept to this man still remains, he died before I paid it. I blame the marshal of Reza.." he states, lifting the blade up to look at it in the light, letting it gleam from the shine of the sun.

“What about the supposed slavery in Morsgrad? What about them shouting to kill any and all Suticans that stepped upon their land? Just because the use of narcotics was a bit higher even though the neutral settlement had nothing to do with them or the Empire at all? Decades ago, there was even a Hookah festival held within Cyrilsburg of Curon. And Remember when Vintas merged with Curon? The men of Morsgrad shouted to shave any head of the former Vintas folks on their land. Keep in mind, there were no problems with any of these events until they made them a problem. By each action they shouted they did it out of respect to their Imperial allies and encouraged them to help Morsgrad in their bark but no bite acts. All of this was forgiven and forgotten but now, I think it is about time you all flip a coin and hold your breath in hope for survival”  A tall, hooded figure spoke with multiple documents in his hands upon entering the palace on a late evening

“Imagine marching into Oren with an army and getting upset at how you were treated, after blaming haense because a bandit killed another bandit.” said Farley before returning to his duties
