The First Act of the Brotherhood of the Flame

15th of The First Seed, 1754

The Brotherhood of the Flame: Order of Beowulf launched a daring strike deep into the Heart of Curon. Twenty Hearth Brothers lead by the Ash-Bringer himself, Jairiven Willow and the Master-of-Arms, Levian Tol. Late into the night the brave Brothers of the All Father crept into the city as the citizens slept, moving quietly into the Church of the Crossed god. With ease they covered the floors, walls, and pews in alcohol and set it ablaze. As the flames took hold of the church the Brothers crossed into the Bank of Curon, blanketing the chests with more kindling and alcohol and setting that too ablaze. There they said a prayer to the All Father and split up into the alleyways, disappearing in the night.. The smoke rising from Curon could be seen throughout the Highlands signalling the All Father’s praise for The Brotherhood.

The Brotherhood of The Flame has formally introduced themselves to Arcas.

Matthias came out later to the burning of the church. He manages, with other Curonian guards(NPCs), to keep the fire from spreading to the homes... but the bank was lost in the blazes. Afterwards, he sat with other bypassers who looked upon the flames, talking about roasting marshmallows and how it would be foolish to put the fire out from the church, since the church’s structure was already so compromised that trying to save it would be dangerous to public health.

”Stop crying.” He said comfortingly over to a bystander. “A real church is not a building, it’s the people of the faith who gather together in the LORD’s name.”

Alisa read over the report with a furrowed brow. ”I feel like I should’ve been informed of this plan beforehand... Interesting times, these.”

A flinched Riordain feels astonished some when confronted with the news.  Yet all the same, the full-grown Adunian, no less a leal godfearing man, can’t help but feel a strange admiration for these savage heathens.

“Pagans o’ this calibre were said tae be but fadin’ memories o’ days long past.”
