Hammer work resonated through the city streets past the gate of the Pale city of Tor Eldar, the noise frightening the birds into an uneasy silence as carts filled with crates rolled into the city, a guardsman walking away after doing a thorough search of its contents. It had been a long ten-years since the Elves had first arrived in the Empire, and they remained hopeful about the future of this fledgling settlement. Many doubted that it would rise at all, yet here all of them stood on the precipice of a thriving city whose beauty would no doubt be marvelled at for generations. The Warden lowered his hammer and sucked in an uneasy breath before he cast his gaze along the horizon with fascination. He saw bricklayers, pavers, architects and engineers of varying skill-level and pedigree. The gates were now opened fully for the first time. Merchants and their wares would no doubt start flowing the Warden pondered to himself. He smiled and then looked down at the metal he had been forming. Tor Eldar was his home now, and it brought him pleasure that very soon many others would be visiting his province whether it be to visit and share a couple of pints with friends, or to pay homage to Malin at the Temple of Malin’s Flame. Still there was much work to do. A barracks to complete, a fairgrounds to finish, a tourney ground for the Immortals too – an elite band of roving Elven Knights who defended him just as they once defended his grandfather. But at last, he was home again and for that Lathadlen Calithil was indeed very grateful. ((OOC)) It has been a long three months since the start of this project and still we continue to move mountains with our ambition. I would like to thank everybody who pasted in the city starting with GrizzlyWest and Koanda, Wurfv, Kimikaa, and everybody else who has worked tirelessly to bring this to fruition. I would like to thank all the people who have donated, like Valaryon, Rylothh, Kleo, Emma, Fruune, Mandoleader, Hindsight, RequiemofLight, Milenko, Clonky, Hunwald, Esterlen, and Dibli. Without all of you, and many others, we might have never escaped limbo. Most of all I thank Junar for crafting this magnificent city for us out of a few pictures of Rivendell and a lot of vague comments in voice between us all. Truly, everybody in the Pale Community has worked endlessly to get here and now we are triumphant in our construction. I could not ask for a better group and I would like to thank you all, again and again, till I run out of breath and cannot continue. The hard part is over now. The build is up and now we are free to role-play and write! This thread is to announce that as of now, April 27, 2020 the city is open. The gates are open for travel and visitors and role-play finally, and its the above mentioned names who we all have to thank for all the sweat and tears they’ve invested in getting things done. Cepheid 4304 Share Posted April 28, 2020 Leandra Laraethryn stared at the pile of books and ledger in front of her as the missive was delivered, taking a small break to celebrate that the city they had worked so hard to make had finally been constructed.The elfess set the missive in a desk drawer and went back to sorting through what seemed to be an endless amount of tomes. If you walk towards Helena from Cloud Temple/The Crossroads, you will spot it as the big mountainous city with a tremendous gate near the Helena Road, on the way to the capital.
