The note callin’ us to action wasn’t over nothing! Us wee folks heard some wailing coming from the Underground, so we ventured on in! After realizing that it's coming out of the sewers, we ventured into there to check it out! What followed was a great adventure that brought Teric Ratfoot to rest. A real shame, we liked having that bugger around. At least we found some shiny things along the way!

Kat Comb Applefoot, a halfling who I am ashamed to share a family name with, was caught eating raw humanoid flesh several times during our adventures in the sewers. Honestly, I think he’s wrong in the head. No sane halfling that I know of would eat random meat they found in the middle of a smelly sewer, that’s for certain! I think the Sheriff should get a good look at ‘im, just to make sure he’s not a Demon in disguise or somethin’!

 

~Fortress Built! Name Pending!~

~Such a magnificent fortress! Will surely last a very long time against a horde of Demons!~

My suggestions to the Thain have borne fruit! Instead of a bunch of disconnected and woefully inadequate street barricades, Brandybrook is now protected by a fortress on top of the Library! This fortress has a flag, ballista mounted on top, and a bar serving drinks*! It’s the greatest anti-Demon defense built in the village so far, and I pray to Knox that it’ll do us well!

The best part about the fortress is that YOU, that’s right YOU! YOU the readers of The Beetroot News get to pick the name of the fort! Just send in a suggestion with the following format:

With the Demons at our doorstep, it makes sense that us wee folks gotta learn how to fend for ourselves! This was decided upon during the End o’ the World Meeting, and now it is finally being turned into action! T’was a good thing that the weapons we were training with were all padded wooden sticks, because otherwise I’m sure one of us would’ve lost a limb!

 

~Biggun Writes Book on Brandybrook!~

~The writer in question! He got into our hay barricade somehow, should probably get that checked out.~

A well-known biggun writer has written a book about Brandybrook and its halfling inhabitants! I’ve managed to read a copy of the work, and I offer my wholehearted approval of this man’s work! He may have a large body, but he has the heart of a weefolk! I’ll make sure to put a copy into the Library, with me bein’ ah librarian and all, so that the rest of you can read this book as well!

There have been rumors, unconfirmed, of course, that Kit Kat and Andon Cloudberry were kissing each other while the rest of us wee folks were busy chatting on the other side of the Dinkle River. I myself do not know for certain, how could I? Still, I felt that it would interest the readers of this newspaper, and thus I shall put it to print.

I’m not feeling sick from Coronavirus anymore! While I'm not technically off of quarantine yet, I’m still feeling a lot better! I shouldn’t miss any events due to being too tired anymore!

 

I’m not the one who calls the shots, but I think it’d be a good idea to have another OOC gaming night soon. The previous OOC gaming nights were huge successes, and I’d love to see another.

Keep up the good work everyone! Everything feels quite vibrant and enthusiastic! While the village isn’t filled to the brim with people 24/7, we’ve had multiple halflings in the village more days than not, allowing us to flesh out the little intricacies of halfling life! Events are still fun, and there’s bound to be more of them as time goes on. If this current trend continues for the rest of the map, I think we’ll be in an excellent spot for 8.0!
