squakhawk 7208 Popular Post Share Posted October 5, 2020 The True-End of The Loregames In January, the previous Lore Admin created a piece to his post titled “The End Of The Loregames”. Although such was far from the truth, it is in the confidence of Story Management and Administration that Loregames are truly over. The only leftover pieces currently are Golems and Golemancy (requiring guide), and Naztherak which is still yet to be submitted. Below, is a list of all magics or CAs shelved due to The Loregames. Aswell, anything NOT on the following LIST ( https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1XB1Ps1EblBvkSr3DZFYdZcBudokhcIBaRHfboLeHz4A/edit?usp=sharing ) is not considered accepted lore: Spoiler Telekinesis Arcanism Electric Evocation Kloning Runesmithing Dark Shamanism Domestic Magic Celestialism Ascended Izkuuthi Zar’kiel Fiends Cognatism Lore-Related Projects ST have been hard at work these last few months; we’ve reduced the waiting time of lorepieces over these last few months from ~4-6 months to 1-2, and we’re still accelerating by chopping the list down. Currently, the ST has more than a few projects we have been actively working on; such as. The Voidal Project We have been making steady progress, focusing on Additions to Voidal Magic. Nearly finished, a thanks to Devilgum, Sorcerio, and Johann for working hard upon it. A small sneak-peek; We’ve added avenues for dedicated voidal mages to pursue greater learning and understanding, with unique capabilities depending which path ventured. Expect a full release and detail soon! Almaris Materials Although the project is currently a bit set-to-the-backburner due to much more important tasks, it is with Confidence that we can discuss Almaris will be receiving unique herbs and lore-materials for next map; thanks to Auric_Saint, we’ve been able to make some interesting additions which both tie into other lore, and bring something unique upon themselves. The Materials Project With great pride, we are excited to inform that Material Nodes will be automatically done through Vortex next map. While the majority will not play into the plugin, they will be mined without ST interaction; although this does take away some niches like Carbarum, Thanhium, or Boomsteel, it is much less a load on the team and players to bring a system which would allow players to enhance roleplay and try new things; a massive thank-you to Nickrocky for this advancement, and to Sybbyl, Auric_Saint, Lockages, Devilgum, DiscoLiquid, Mordu, A_Keefy, Sorcerio, Johann, and Elad for their great help upon the project over these last few months. The Racial Update Currently, this project is within the Nation-Leader and Draft phase. We are working to bring some nice, needed updates to phase out outdated-and-argued wikilore to make a proper, cohesive update to all races which allows for set in stone lines and capabilities without vague lines or strange restrictions and limitations. The Review Teams Reviews have been incredibly smooth over these last few months, as we are quickly outpacing the lore submissions list. We have reported Loremag Results, which pieces are in review, and have been much more responsive and critical upon feedback given. MArts have run out of submissions, and base Loremags have been incredibly well. Though Alchemy and Botany are slow and steady, that sect has been much more busy preparing for Transition and trimming the herbs for the next map to bring a system easy to work with and implement. Writer’s Workshop Writers Workshop is less so a project and more so focusing upon expanding upon concepts in LOTC lost to time, or underdeveloped- under good management of Zarsies, the team has a lot ahead of them to tackle; but I am certain players old and new will very much appreciate what’s to come from the team. The Shelving of Unsound Unsound magic is being shelved; while little of a surprise and likely a “What’s that” from many, Unsound was a black-sheep Voidal Magic which has been extremely problematic these last few months. Particularly given the Voidal Project, nearly every piece has to have “...but if you are an Unsound user, X”- which can be a massive annoyance, granted how anti-void, a voidal magic can be. Aswell, there is an extremely disappointing amount of MAs- with a staggeringly low retention rate of players within the magic. Given the details of the lore’s passing, aswell as how minimal it’s impact upon the server has been, the ST and Administration have decided that it no longer has place upon the server, and is shelved. Changes to Self-Teaching Over the last few months we’ve ran about two-dozen Selfteach-Altar events. While OOC Oversight has been a massive success, altars still remain to have some issues. With tweaks added ST-Side over the last few months, we’ve had some changes in policy. Going forward, Altars (as before) are still always-PK events, with only 1 MA attainable at the end. This must be achieved by a group of four or more. Regarding the apps themselves, the Self-Teach time (6 months) will be reduced to normal (4 months). For those currently on their self-teach app, they will have their total tier-time cut in half. (Example; you have 8 weeks total from Tier 4->5. You just started Tier 4. With the cut-in-half, you now have 4 weeks left to Tier 5.) Event Related Projects With events, the main thing we have focused on is trying to consolidate our tools and see the true extent of what we can do on the server. At the moment, the Inferi eventline is a massive experiment which is focusing on learning different techniques and being able to apply them to future scenarios (or even a big 8.0 antag ooooooooOoOoO) Alot of solo projects have been halted to ensure that we are able to conclude this map, while also applying larger lore movements through events and having players have the ability to influence and change the future. 8.0 has quite a bit of potential for us to try to make a cohesive map that makes sense and also linking it to concepts that have been in our lore for quite a while. The Inferi Eventline The Inferi Event is entering it’s eleventh week since the campaign was first launched in august. There have been over a staggering 40 events conducted during this time of various scales, with the eventline expecting to be wrapped up around the end of October. As the first, long-form-multi-scale campaign the ST has run this year, we are experiencing great success, but it has also presented a learning opportunity in wider cooperation of players. Not to mention, balancing narrative, enjoyment, and serverlore. Lots of things have been tried in the event- to successes and failures, which we will see in coming eventlines. We have had big, 100+ player events weekly- and this trend is likely to continue as things go onward. The main thing with this eventline is ensuring that it is ‘RP’ centric and has broken down the barriers for mass CRP events and being able to run antagonists without having the crutch of mechanics or lag. This aspect of future antags will be explored and definitely doubled down on, but for the moment we wish to see how enjoyable we can make these mega events of 100+ people while trying to keep everyone entertained and involved. We are entering the last stages of the eventline and the preparation for everything should finally start to show. I want to ensure that players are able to give their best efforts and help wrap this up. I always am taking feedback over the event and will definitely set up a thread at the conclusion of the eventline to see what the players disliked about the event. Current Management Riftblade (Story Administrator) Firespirit44 (General Management) squakhawk (Story Manager) ScreamingDingo (Story Manager) A thank you to All the ST who have been a part of the team since our reimagining in the Spring. The team would not be where it is without your contribution. A Special thank you to all Current ST for their selfless aide to the server. It could not be what it is without your incredible effort and hard work- Thank you.
