THE HISTORY OF FRANZ BARBANOV:

Franz Barbanov, born in New Reza in 330 ES, is the youngest son of Koeng Sigismund II. He joined the HRA as soon as he reached the age of fourteen, led the Haeseni Expedition that discovered the continent of Almaris at the age of sixteen, and became a squire soon thereafter. He became a Knight of the Order of the Crow in 359 ES, given the moniker of “the Oracle.”

 

He has served as the Grand Maer of Karosgrad since 355 ES, the first Maer elected upon the continent of Almaris. He has been the most prolific Maer in the history of Hanseti-Ruska, issuing a total of eight Edicts during his four terms, and passing and introducing the most Duma Bills during his four, totalling 17 bills. For his efforts as Grand Maer, he was granted the rank of Kossar within the Order of Queen Maya and the Lily in 364 ES.

 

THE POLICIES OF FRANZ BARBANOV:

Franz Barbanov has, for his entire career within the Duma, been a proponent of a political ideology based around “Sense and Sensibility,” legislation that is built around simple and good judgements, while also building on empathy for all subjects of the Crown. This policy has led to the most prolific career within recent history in the Duma, with a total of 17 passed Duma Bills, and many more co-sponsored, like the Duma Reforms penned by himself and Sir Konrad Lauritsen.

 

As Grand Maer, Franz Barbanov has promoted the usage of Maer Edicts to a greater extent than any other Maer in the history of Hanseti-Ruska, and has managed to successfully change what it means to be Maer. He, for one, began the process of paying the medical professionals of Hanseti-Ruska, and decreed the construction of roads to connect all the vassals of the Kingdom to the capital of Karosgrad.

 

It is the sincerest hope of Grand Maer Franz Barbanov that the electorate of Hanseti-Ruska will elect him for a fifth term, in which the Kingdom can continue down the path of Sense and Sensibility.
