Issued Year 25 of the Second Age by the BARON CARRINGTON

After some consideration and deplorable behavior from my youngest brother- it has been deliberated and decided to dismiss him from the family after holding on to a family secret for many years.

From here forth- Simon Bastille may not use the last name d’Arkent nor the Carrington claim. He will now be deemed with the bastard name Mildred after his mother.

A letter from Anna Henrietta of Provins and the prior Baron Carrington- has come forth that deems Simon is not from the marriage of the Baron and his wife. The Baron, in the letter, seems to have admitted that one Simon Bastille is from another woman and the Baroness Dowager agreed to keep the babe as her own to avoid any dispute to the prior Baron’s career and her own reputation.

After discussing with my mother, we have decided to no longer support him and his incessant means to forsake his family for his own greed and gain. The Carringtons since the founders- Green and Jasper- has been based on family loyalty, strength and bond. Seemingly my youngest brother did not inherit the Carrington way but inherited the opposite from one Eudora Mildred. Whom the prior Baron had a brief and meaningless affair with whilst his wife was away for work.

We can no longer hold this secret in good faith and must move forth as a family.

SIGNED BY

Wilhelm Lucius

BARON OF CARRINGTON

Maisie d’Arkent scoffed “They are out of line for this. Charles would never cheat - let alone say so in a letter. Poor Simon.”

Joseph d'Azor shakes his head "To disown ones family like this..." Joseph takes an inhalation as he tosses the missive into the fire "I think they need to go to the House of lords for this? I shall send for my friend, he is always welcome in the Estate of d'Azor."

The Lord Speaker of the House of Lords lofts an eyebrow, "This shall be reviewed." He begins penning several letters to make the proper arrangements.

Cardinal Gawain, having been quite happy he got off from that whole Othaman deal in the House of Lords fast, read the missive from the Lord Speaker with complete and utter annoyance. "I hate the Carringtons! Even after they all died out they still haunt me!" he screamed at the top of his lungs. There were numerous noise complaints from the Cardinal's office at the Cathedral by the following morning.

It was late into the month of Sun's Smile when word of Simon's disownment arrived in the western reaches of the Empire to the Countess of Halstaig. "Hmph. . . Simon was the only Carrington worth something - He should have been Baron instead of that twit Wilhelm who can't even use the Imperial date on an official document." The Countess sighed, pushing the letter aside "This is why I choose to stay away from the palace" She'd remark before returning to an exciting evening of harvesting sugarcane for the Empire.

Natalie Julia reads over the paper while walking around her newly purchased home, allowing a loud huff to escape her lips followed by a shake of her head.  "It is quite extreme to disown Simon because of something that isn't their fault. There must be more to the story, but I assume Wilhelm and Lady Anna have a good reason."  She'd comment to one of the many paintings that belonged to the previous owner of the estate, making a mental note to replace it before moving on with her walkthrough. "And it is just a name. Names mean nothing if you are willing to put in the work to get somewhere."  She'd hum as she gave a flick to the forehead of a stone bust, wondering what she will replace it with.

"I'a can't believe it! Can you?" A young girl exclaimed, ranting to her youngest niece. "Gracie. . . be happy ya' got a lovin' family. I knew how bad they treat Rhea but this! This is too far."

Helena de Sarkozy reads over the letter. She walks over the newly open gardens where her and Simon had their first date. Helena glance up at the constellations that Helena showed Simon. “My dearest Simon, you did no wrong. A name doesn’t define who you truly are. You work harder than all the Carringtons combined.“ Helena then walks back to the Sarkozy Estate and asked her papa what they could do to help Simon.

“Grandpapej, do you need any tea from the servants? Must be hard dealing with these gossiping hens in their lavish walls and gardens.” Natalya vas Ruthern addressed to the count while walking into his study with a japing tone. The Ruthern heard some of his comments of the entire scandal. While she walked into the Lord Speaker’s study within the Ruthern estate, she did so with a calm smile on her face and an elegant posture.

"Ah thank you Natalya, yes I'd enjoy some tea," Count Ruthern answered his granddaughter as he was hunched over his desk which was covered in reports and papers. "This will be a busy year for the House of Lords."

"Tea!" The Count's son proclaimed as he barged into the office. He unknowingly snatched his Father's cup, chugging the liquid in its entirety with a hearty sigh thereafter. "Mm, that was much needed, Papej" Having forgotten what he had come for, he left soon after.

After the Heir of the Ruthern County, the young child of the household would pour the cup out of the window and ordered a new cup of tea from their elderly and ancient butler. While doing so, the child shook her head with her eyes closed then opened, commenting with a cheery expression and joking tone while looking towards her grandfather at the door of his study while she walked out of the room. “We dont need a drunk count and lord speaker during these scandals. Anyways, goodbye. Enjoy your not whisky filled tea!” Natalya vas Ruthern said when she finally walked out with much haste towards her bedroom to do her own studies on the current world affairs with the orcs of Krugmar and the elves of all Alamaris.

Beryl Jasper Carrington, would most likely feel hurt by this comment, and maybe cry a little too...had he heard it.
