Our Empire is a vast one, requiring a level of administration and governance that has not been seen before. Although, as the Orenian people may know, efforts have been made to decentralize the government to ease this burden on the state, it is still a great undertaking. To this end, it is seen as fit to invest the same powers, authorities, and duties that I carry as Emperor into my wife, Empress Anastasya. She was crowned by my side, she has fought this war at my side, and she has ruled this Empire at my side. Such equal share of power shall be kept unofficial no longer.

Her Imperial Majesty, Anastasya of Kositz, Empress consort of the Holy Orenian Empire shall be elevated to the Imperial Throne as a regnant equal in power to that of Philip III, Holy Orenian Empire. Henceforth, she shall be known as Anastasia I, Holy Orenian Empress, in honor of her ascension.

  1. Upon the death or abdication of Emperor Philip III, Empress Anastasia I shall continue their reign onwards until death or abdication.

  2. Furthermore, upon the death of Emperor Philip III, Empress Anastasia I shall never remarry.

  3. The Imperial Line of Succession shall not be modified, changed, or altered in any manner. Therefore, the House of Ruthern holds no claim to the Imperial Throne on account of the ascension of Empress Anastasia I.

  4. The elevation of Empress Anastasya of Kositz from consort to regnant shall not apply to any later consorts. Such is only done at the behest and declaration of Emperor Philip III, and bestowed upon her individual person.

IN NOMINE DEI,

HIS IMPERIAL MAJESTY, Philip III, Holy Orenian Emperor, forever August, King of Renatus, Curon, Kaedrin, Salvus, and Seventis, Grand Duke of Ves, Helena, Novellen, Furnestock and Lorraine, Baron of Renzfeld, Protector of the Heartlanders, Orenian Highlanders, and Farfolk, etcetera

Athénaïs Ashford de Savoie would be sat within the garden having an early lunch with her fellow ladies. As she took a silver spoon to her mouth, a man of great heft huffed and puffed his way over to the ensemble of women. The sweaty man bowed at the waist, nearly toppling over as he did. He placed a parchment in view of the flaxen-haired Princess. As she read the missive, she let out a satisfactory nod of the head.

"Purr." said the young Athénaïs. "Now go fetch my wine, fat man."

He would smile as he looked to his mother, lightly he would whisper to himself, "Long may you reign!"

From the imperial dais as the court henceforth proceeded after Emperor Philip III's announcement - crowned once more; once as consort, now as regnant at her husband's side - Anastasia I stands with pride for the empire she so devoutly served and loved.

As Cardinal Albarosa reads the edict his brows jump slightly. "Interesting," he comments before placing the missive on his desk.

A particular Basridi would send off an assortment of flowers to be delivered directly to the Empress's office via an Argent Legion private. The assortment being that of Cymbidium and Alstroemeria with accents of fennel on the bouquet that was wrapped in a simple parchment, sealed with the Basrid house crest to hold together the paper. A card would be attached poking out of the top of the parchment reading the simplest of congratulations.

"Lady Anastasya,

Congratulations, dear friend, your ascension marks history. If you need a friend, I am always here

Sincerely, V.E.B."

"He does realise she could change this all by a similar edict once he passes, right? Or even right now, seeing as he's made her his equal. Doesn't he?" asks Jurgen.
