A SURVEY OF ALL CANONIST LANDS

to Determine the Placement, Name, and Type of Church Holdings

 

Requested by the Secretariat to His Holiness,

The Reverend, Ileana Sava Ursović, Presbyter

 

 

on the 4th of Harren's Folly, 1854

With the shifting of lands temporal, it has become necessary to update and have accurate records of all holdings of the Holy Mother Church. Thus, in my authority as Secretariat to His Holiness, I request from the bishop of every diocese in the known world to provide a listing of all:

 

1. Churches;
2. Cathedrals;
3. Basilicas;
4. Oratories;
5. and other sundry Sacred Places in their jurisdiction.

 

The listing should include the name of the place, its location, and its type. In the absence of a bishop, if a bishop is too ill to provide such a listing, or where a diocese is left in sede vacante, the archbishop over that diocese should provide the listing instead of the bishop. I request that this listing be completed and returned to me within the year. Thank you and may GOD bless all of us.
