A Marian Resplendent, 430 ES

VA BIRODEO E HERZENAV,

The Royal Court has, since time immemorial, been among the sources of information and guidance from the Crown to the Haeseni people. However, the sittings of the Royal Court and its outcomes have traditionally been confined to word of mouth and later edicts. It is therefore the wish of the Crown that the transcripts of the Royal Court be published once more.

Our court, as most have presented in times recent, commenced with an interesting display for the Haeseni King. In this regard, Lady Palatine Isabel Baruch had trained the King’s monkey, aptly also named ‘Little Karl’ to blow a trumpet upon his arrival. A herald of the most interesting pedigree, to be certain.

A MARSHAL DECIDED

After the death of Lord Marshal Johann Barclay, the brotherhood is in need of a new leader. After the great amount of service provided during the tenure of Lord Johann, the Crown does see fit to promote Hieran Melphestaus to the position. It is our hope that he shall not fail in his duties, but rather make all proud in his endeavors.

A DEPUTY PALATINE

With the Queen, Amadea of Susa, embarking on a Grand Tour of her Rhenyari origins in Ba’as alongside her daughter, as well as a planned adventure into Hyspia in the coming years by the Lady Palatine, the king has sought the need of a Deputy Palatine to help in governance. In this regard, the king believes that his friend, Ser Grigori Vyronov, is perfectly acceptable to rise to the challenge.

THE MARIAN RETINUE, REVITALIZED

In recent years, the Marian Order has been a shadow of its former self. As per an incorrect interpretation of a previous edict, it was thought that Marians can be that alone, however this is not the case. A Marian’s duty is to protect the king and serve them as the king does ultimately please. In this regard then, Ser Grigori was reaccepted into the Marian Order.

The king sought new candidates to be Marian squires, and so allowed any to volunteer themselves. A number did so, among them Lord Markus Morovar and Lord Matyas Alban. These brave volunteers were given a challenge, to beat Ser Grigori in single combat. Whilst neither managed the task, they both fought amicably to where they were accepted as Marian Squires pending further challenge and instruction.

A final challenger stepped forth, the Royal Blacksmith, who had been encouraged by his brother. Eadred Vanir fought the best of all the challengers, yet was still defeated. He did, however, prove his mettle and that the blades of Vanir had certainly not rusted since their previous demotion. Perhaps a glimmer of hope for the future of that house still remains.
