A Market Stall Razed - In Knox's Name!

Recommended Posts

daylight over Bywater,

the sun crests the mountains to the east that shade the town,

in the early morning the embers of a burned stall still smolder,

illuminating the bottoms of the oak they glow under,

the light dancing off a single golden coin,

resting in the grass.

Nailed to the door of the inn a manifesto hangs, written out on a neatly cut piece of paper

WE HAVE STRUCK!

The spread of the bigguns ways, their buildings, and their mina into our Bywater must be stopped! We have all seen the new big building on our hillside above the storage burrow, this cannot be allowed! First it was coin! Then locking their cupboards and doors! Now they tear up our meadow for their house! To send a message to those sinister munchkins who must be manipulating our noble Thain and wise mayor into allowing this, we have struck and razed one of the first stalls to trade in mina in our town. Another will soon burn if our demands are not met! They are thus:

1. FORBID the use of these coin shops within Bywater!

2. STRIKE the locks from the doors!

3. BURN the biggun house on the hill!

Doder casually strolls by the flaming stall with a cocktail in hand. He draws a sip into his mouth and spits it into the flaming scene. "Down wiff the biggun influence in Bywa'ah! Down wiff these locks on local ches's an' barrels! Our folk shall remain free! Free of biggun capitalis' agendas! Knox bless the soul tha' 'ad the courage tae pu' aflame tae this Knox-damned stall." He wipes his mouth with his arm and takes a pause as he watches the stall smolder in the night air. "Oi'll be a free an' propah halflin' in a free an' propah shire, or a' leas' Oi'll die free."

Doder walks away from the scene singing on old tune:

While the world did gaze with deep amaze
At those fearless men but few
Who bore the fight that freedom's light
Might shine through the foggy dew

Kor'garr the Clanless blinks in the middle of writing an article about the Halfling village. A Krugmarian courier hawk bites at the wooden posts of his window until he moves to claim the missive scribbled in... is that pumpkin mash? as Ink? The grey orc reads with a raised monobrow before  a huff of laughter leaves his mustache'd maw.

"Keh. Imperzzive." The Bywater paper is laid down beside his drafts to be recorded... Well, immediately. huh.

Thelgrud Mossborn looks up from his work sketches as his trusty owl flies in with a letter, scribed in what seems to be... is that pipeweed green? interesting... the orangehaired dwarf reads the letter, his face becoming more astonished as he reads it. "toime teh head thoire tumorrow oi guess, le's du sumthen' 'bout this" he says as he starts on a sketch coïncidentally for a halfling customer.
