 I am a virtuous Canonist, and seek before all else the Glory of God. The Glory of God is not in this war. The Duchy of Adria has not acted unreasonably given the course of War, and having submitted itself to penance of the Church of Canon.

 

It is now three missives which these would-be virtuous words have graced the pages of; and, it is fair to suspect, it would be many more. It has been revealed to this writer that the Adrians have taken to forcing their Prisoners to write dictated missives; firstly, denouncing the War against the Anathema Duchy, with words put in their mouths by their captors. It would seem these are thus followed by more personal accounts, twisted to fit the narrative of one so outraged, so wronged that they have become Turncoat.

 

It is not so. 

 

We need not wonder how Adria honed this tactic. When allowed to write their own missives freely, after all, prisoners may be inclined to slip in some simple ciphers past their captives -- as this writer once did. When faced with Death or endless Torture, the cost of ink on a page seems far less steep than blood on dungeon flagstones.

 

Adria seeks to wage war on the roads and on reputation; to chip away at the morale of the Canonist Nations through deception masked as righteousness.

Believe not those who claim to have found some value in their cause; know, instead, what truly hides behind their writings.
