“Dear sisters, they call this land Almaris, the land of Titans”

________________________________

In the beginning, the first record of the name of Munnel was but a blank slate, through time. The Sun elven tribes were scattered, and separated into different cultures especially the tribe of Munnel, or Mah’nel. (Mah- affix for Hunter/Hunt, Nel- Affix for destiny.) The first known Munnel was recorded in the year, though the family tree to this tribe was lost,  of the disbanding of the Mali’Solarii, many of the Sun elven names disappeared or merged with cultures and characters that were beyond their historical past. The Munnels were first recorded during the time of the Empire, during the rise of Imperialist Elfs and further families which held elven descent. This, of course, led to the primary identification of Jarad Munnel, a Mali’aherral who was born in the areas of the Silver State, After his departure, he made his way to the Empires Andesite steps and made a name for himself during the reign of John VII, and VIII- Also including the reign of  Phillip III & Anesthesia I in the Holy Oren Empire.

During that time, the typical elf saw lots of warfare, including the many wars of Urguan-Oreni wars, which is where he made a name for himself. Jarad also saw the destruction of his first-ever battle, Jarad Munnel felt both Honor and disgust, for such methods used during the war of the goat in the Empire. In a mission to the Silver state before the Silver civil war, the Imperial state army gained the chance to diplomatically visit the state, in which there during their mingling with many citizens who saw the Empire as an ally, Jarad met a mali’thill named Soriesse. They soon fell in love, however, due to the unknown fact of whether Jarad was an elf or human, Soriesse was exiled and she swore not to return for the likes of anyone in the State, With such in mind, the two became inseparable, and married each other in the Year of 1856 S.A. The two quickly became close and had two twin high-eleven children named Ember and Rose Munnel. Jarad soon rose the ranks of society during his time in human territory, being close to a Human family, who at the time was known as the Viscount family of Vuiller, Jarad Munnel was granted the given land of Brighthill, a lordship then barony to the Mali’aherral, he claimed Ember, one of the first few daughters in the household, as heir to Munnel family name. Jarad however had many other children with his beloved wife afterward, Including names like Hera Munnel, Anora Munnel, Felix & Caleb Munnel, and his youngest Lilith Munnel.

This would be the start of the Munnel family, helious then would be built in the lands of what was the great tree of the hintherlands during the reign of Kosher Desmond, Prince Royarch of Amaethea. Helious would bring commerce and prosperity to the Wood elven lands, which were wrought with abandonment and sorrow during the time of Evat’iir. After Kosher Daesmond however, High Prince Acanthus Daesmond would then raise the rank of the village to duchy allowing them to be rewarded for their hard work and loyalty, only to bring furthermore commerce and culture to helious. Upon the founding of the Mali’Solarii and during the Reign of High Princess Idril Sylvaeri, the city took the title of Principality, giving the city the stage within other prince royarchs

Values and Practices

image.thumb.png.f50775ca9ccb8f386e3d2f9812af3af5.png

“The hunt is but great, but the experience is greater.”

Time and time again the Mali’Solarii never embrace a true identical culture to most Mali. Unlike High elves, it is known that the Sun elves are and were Spiritualists who devoted their hunts and sacrifices to Solaris. Because of this, It is widely regarded that the Munnels are filled with Rogues and Rangers, hunters and fighters with immaculate flexibility and flow on the battlefield. Historically it is in the mark of the hunter to always have ranged weapons, as it's a trademark of the munnel to have a weapon that can help them hunt from afar, rather than a sword or spear, and an arrow can do much more damage from a farther range.

The Munnels from the beginning, know that Spirits live within the Animals, and that were we to slaughter them unreasonably is but a disgrace and in fact a dishonor at that. It is our way to always give thanks and a small prayer to Solaris (or any saints) to be able to please them and allow their spirit to pass on to the Astral plane.

Munnels are also well known for their want to learn more, combining their hunting skills and tracking abilities they are able to track their prey. They usually hold bestiaries or Journals with the, giving them a need to write and examine everything they can about the beast in which they have killed. The munnels also have many scholars within the family excelling beyond the capabilities of normal alchemists and geographers.

One main core Value from the munnels is to always abide by the light, and against impurities of darkness, no Elfess or Elf held the name of Munnel and lived to be a dark spawn within their halls. Those that were found to be are either disowned or killed.

Another core value is Humility, allowing ones self to not be derived by titles and of the like would be seen as greed and oppression. It is known that those that live in this world, find equality among themselves. Unlike humans who boast and oppress others with their titles, The munnels do not use such and instead act as anyone would amongst friends and family and other citizens. They only see ft to add their importance when they either find it necessary or feel like it, which they rarely need to.

Rituals & Practices

The Marking: At the beginning of life, a child is born wailing and conjoined with her mother. However with the Munnel children, after being united with the mother, a ritual is done afterward, branding the child with the Mark of Pil’ri or Kaira, the lesser twin spirits of Guidance. This marking is unique as it's not a tattoo but a branding upon the Munnel child.

The First Hunt/Final Hunt: Upon the elder age of fifteen seasons a munnel is sent on a hunt for the first time with their parent, they are to teach and guide the child in the ways of hunting while also allowing them to pick their targets and learn how to skin. Upon their elder age, or if known prior, their ill state, the munnel may take upon their final hunt, in which the person may be assisted or escorted, upon being buried they would be covered with the hide of their catch.

Trials of Heirship: A Munnel can become the heir of the family by following the trials of heirship of old. In the age of Mah’nel, the original elder, knew that the hardships of one's self defined the kind of person they are. A Mah’nel is supposed to be a strong hunter and Scholar

Trial of the Mind-  A Munnel begins to take a trivia of questions of both worldly politics and Historical trivia, one may study for this upon request to take the Trial of Heirship

Trial of the Hunt- A Munnel must hunt down a predator by themselves, one of both great size and power. Once they do so they may use the gatherings of the prey to use them as ornaments or clothing.

Trial of prayer- The Mah’nel was a spiritual set of people, believing in the twin spirits one must provide a great sacrifice as a gift, this may be part of the trial of the hunt, as the spirits are praised in this.

Trials of the Crown: In the Era of Sol’Helious. The Land was made into a principality, noticing how well it did, and after the falter of the first born Heir. It was clear that a test of worth was necessary. Like the Trials of Heirship, the trials of the crown are much harder than the one before. And can be taken by anyone of the royal line so long as they are of the following

  1. A Full blooded Munnel

  2. A Pure Munnel that has not befallen to ibleesian or darkspawn or dark ties.

  3. Over the age of 15

  4. Have completed their first hunt.

The trials of the crown are as follows.

Trial of Power- A long hike across the world must be done, with no sleep, no gear, using only one arrow, the Contender must survive on their own and return to Helious alive. (Player event)

Trial of Loyalty- Upon arriving home, the Contender shall be tested for darkspawn traits and must pass to complete the trial. If married, the person must still be with their loved one throughout this trial.

Trial of Strength- After a night of rest, the contender must attend the trial of strength, This trial may be participated by any royal bloodline of helious and, may challenge the contender for their spot for the Fox throne. Upon this trial citizens may come and watch as a spectacle, The Guard force shall be on standby against any intrusions, and the fighters may use any MUNDANE weapon of their choice. The first to make the other yield or incapacitate  shall be considered the winner.

Upon the final trial, the winner shall then be crowned Heir of the Principality in front of all to see.

Additional Infomation

Founding Family Members

Founding Father - Jarad Munnel

During Jarads Early years, however,   the boy knew nothing of what his future held, Jarad was part of a tribe within the far lands before Almaris. His family was poor farmlands, within a town filled with other Mali’Solarii like him. His traditions were passed down but these traditions began to dwindle as time passed.  in a Village called Zte’rakal or Golden Star Village, Jarad was born during the first Era…there are no true records of his birth however, with some journal entries of Jarad's father the facts and small views of the Munnel family were unknown from the past. It was known that the first Munnel, Jarads Mother, Vola Munnel was known as the first blood munnel in the family, it was recorded that she had fallen in love with a simple man named Gil M’ahriye, however, these two shared intimacy and so Gil agreed to join the Munnel family, after the disaster of the Persecution of the Mali’Solarii in which almost costed the life of the pair. From such after the Inferi war in Arcas, the pair sailed off to Almaris and lived under the Silver state of Haelun’nor. However, after the finding of impurity within the family, mainly Gil for being a man of impure past, the family had hidden Jarad away from the High elves, but died in the Acid pits of the Silver states, claiming such a pair to be Impure and hypocrisy of the past Administration of the Soaher for allowing such impure kin to be let in there city. This of course led Jarad out of the city in his later years at the age of 20, bringing history to its present time.

During his time in the Empire, he became well known, given many titles by past Emporros and Jobs divided amongst by the Empress herself Anastasia I. It was known that Jarad Munnel was an exceptional Elf amongst the man-man elves within the Imperial State army and the realm as a whole. Jarad gained the land of the bright hill with the support of his former allies and families. It was his renown that gained him a lot of favors within the Human realms and beyond.

During his time in the Elven lands though is when the Munnel family truly struggled, reconnecting with the past Jarad Munnel, and his family was required to be Malin's kin once more embracing a fact they never had due to the Culture in which they all came from. However, the family, having Mai’Solarii descent had a dormant culture in which one of their own resurfaced in the year 80 of SA. After the resurfacing of the Mali’Solarii culture, The Prince of Mali’Solarii was granted to the Laurier himself, making the elf and his family royalty.

Founding Mother - Sorise Munnel

During the early years of the Silver State, Soreiss lived a simple pure, orderly life within those of the silver state, serving as an archive assistant in the Libary of Haelun’or and being a scribe for most of her early teen era. However during her time there, she witnessed many unfair treatments to most lower-class citizens and mid-wealthy commoners within the silver state, this was, of course, normal to her, even her parents who were nobles were also mistreating other common houses. However, things took a turn for the worst during her 15th season. Soreiss witnessed what combat was like, as the eLSullimir at her time and the Sullimar Soldiers took arms against the Ferrymen Syndicate who raided the silver state capital. This of course was not repelled so easily as the men in turquoise ransacked the city as much as they could before reinforcements returned from their expedition. However the citizens were evacuated, and the leaders left behind common folk to be slaughtered and embraced by the bandits, this would come as to shock to her as she saw what kind of people were truly on the top of the food chain and who were left to suffer.

During her adulthood, the woman suffered loss, as both her mother and father died due to an illness that the physicians classified as an impurity and denied assisting them with any medical treatments, this, of course, was not the real reason as she soon found out that it was merely poison they were fed, and then suffered a heart attack. Such was the case due to the actions her father took in the silver courts against the Soaher and his government. This sadly was the straw that created nothing but hatred towards any elf within the silver lands. During her time in the tavern, however, she was able to meet a High elf just like her. However, no one ever dictated whether he was human or elf. Though with charming words and an offer, the lady took a chance and risked it for something more than injustice.

In time things grew in her life, a family and a home, one which she shared and handled hand by hand-with her husband who she took a chance with all those decades back with him at the age of 20 Seasons.
